Freeze-dried foods. Video
The pace of life of a modern person is inevitably accelerating, there is no more time for long cooking, and therefore more and more people are switching to instant products. Which, moreover, have a long shelf life. Such products are presented in two versions: semi-finished products with heat treatment and sublimates.
Freeze-dried products are products preserved in a special way that have undergone two-stage processing. There are several technologies in the world, but the essence is the same: the product is frozen, after which the ice is evaporated. A dry biologically active residue remains, which quickly returns to its shape when treated with water and heat. The most famous freeze-dried product is coffee in cans or bags.
The benefits of freeze-dried foods
In addition to the fact that such products are practically not subject to decay and decay forms, they retain absolutely all nutrients and are distinguished by a high degree of digestibility, which means that sublimates do not contain preservatives or dyes, and retain their nutritional value (calorie content).
It is believed that a person can assimilate part of the freeze-dried food even before the food enters the stomach, i.e. the walls of the esophagus
Freeze-dried products, like many advanced designs, were the first to be tried out by the military. Actually, they were invented for them. Lightweight and quick to prepare, they have become indispensable for hiking and training. Tourists also appreciated the beauty of sublimates. The sublimation coefficient (that is, the ratio of the natural weight of the product to its final sublimate) is often high, but not all substances can be “squeezed” in this way, for example, oils practically do not lend themselves to this type of preservation.
Most of the freeze-dried products are aseptically packed in three-layer bags of foil with a nitrogen layer, which means that such a bag can store the product for up to two years. In the countries of the West, preservation of berries is widespread in this way: – strawberries; – cranberries; – cloudberries; – quince; – currants In general, nutritionists say, almost all food products can be sublemated.
Curiously, freeze-dried foods can be a drug. For example, beet juice sublimate is a concentrate that can prevent blood clots and restore intestinal flora after a course of antibiotic treatment. The preserved active substances of the juice perfectly raise the level of hemoglobin in the blood and have an antioxidant effect. Beet sublimate, unlike freshly squeezed juice, tastes good.
There are a number of products that have a beneficial effect on the thyroid gland, but it is difficult or unpleasant to take them in their natural form, again the sublimate helps.
Freeze-dried foods are often addicted to those looking to lose weight and those who are building muscle. The thing is that sublimates are not only quickly absorbed, but also suppress hunger for a long time.
You can buy sublimates in bags, tubes or special forms that imitate plates. They rarely appear in stores, however, in large markets or hunting shops, there is a quite acceptable choice. The trouble with sublimates is that Russians perceive them as preservatives, which is not true. In addition, the cost of packaged freeze-dried products is slightly higher than the usual “frozen” or semi-finished products.
