The dimensions of the clitocybe are quite small – a neat hat of a fragrant talker reaches from 3 to 6 cm in diameter. At first it has a convex outline, but with age it becomes open-concave, with a wavy and slightly lowered edge. The cap of the mushroom is fleshy, but thin, in color – grayish or fawn, yellowish-gray, ocher. The underside is covered with narrow whitish plates descending on the stem; in adult mushrooms, the plates are brownish-gray.

But the anise talker is much larger, it can reach 10 cm in diameter, and up to 8 cm in height. The grayish-greenish tint of the anise fungus is more pronounced.

Winter talker

But in color, the winter talker is grayish or brownish-olive, the yellowness in it is of a completely different shade. In addition, the smell and taste of the flour mushroom are much less appetizing, although it can also be used in food.

The fragrant talker is an autumn mushroom, which follows from the beginning of September to the beginning of October. The chance to find a clitocybe is highest in coniferous forests with a large number of spruces. However, it should be borne in mind that the mushroom is rare, even with careful searches it is unlikely to be able to harvest a large crop.

You need to look for a fragrant talker in clean areas. You can not collect fruiting bodies that grow too close to roads and industrial facilities, they contain a lot of toxic substances from the soil and air.

Use

Before culinary preparation, a fragrant talker must be pre-treated. Processing takes little time and boils down to the fact that the mushroom is first cleaned of the earth and adhering debris, then washed, and then boiled for 10 minutes in salt water. After that, the water must be drained, and the mushrooms themselves put in a colander and wait until all excess water drains from them.

Boiled talkers are usually consumed in their pure form with cereals, salads, potatoes or meat dishes. Clitocybe can also be marinated in vinegar sauce. But frying and salting this variety of edible mushrooms is not accepted, because of the strong non-standard smell, the dishes are less tasty.
