Fox & Dogs (Fox and Dog)

Whiskey drink “Fox and Dog” with a nutty-vanilla flavor and a light fruity aroma appeared on sale quite recently – in 2013. It became the first product in a new category for Synergy. Against the backdrop of growing interest in whiskey among Russian spirits lovers, this step in expanding the case of the largest alcohol company in Russia is called strategic.

The blend of the drink, which was initially positioned as whiskey, was created by Synergy OJSC from a mixture of Scottish spirits aged from three to five years and produced in Scotland at one of the William Grant & Sons factories. But in 2015, when prices for imported alcohol in Russia began to rise inexorably, and supplies from the main importers Bacardi and Diageo fell by a third, the company began to consider the possibility of localizing the release of Fox & Dogs in Russia. And when GOST was adopted in November 2015, allowing the production of whiskey in the country, there were no barriers left. The drink began to be produced in Russia and called a whiskey drink, which led to a decrease in its price by about a third.

Historical reference. Founded in 1999, the Synergy company quickly managed to become the best on the Russian market in terms of business volumes, quality of goods offered, breadth of assortment and advanced technologies. Only in the first 6 years it entered the top ten producers of alcohol. And in 2007, when BELUGA premium vodka was added to the brand case, the positions changed – Synergy became the third largest in terms of sales. The company then acquired the Belenkaya vodka brand and ended 2008 with a capitalization of over a billion dollars.

In 2009, the BELUGA brand became known abroad – the company opened a representative office in the United States and Western Europe. And when the portfolio was replenished with the Myagkov brand, she even signed an advertising contract with the famous Rocky – Sylvester Stallone.

Since 2010, the company’s brands have become regular participants in foreign and world-famous exhibitions and competitions, the number of exported products has increased, Synergy has entered the Middle East markets. Then she increased the production of alcohol to 140 million liters and received the status of the fastest growing Russian company.

In 2011, Synergy signed an exclusive agreement with William Grant & Sons, replenished the portfolio with well-known trademarks of the Camus cognac house and formed its own distribution system, which today employs more than three thousand employees.

The company continues to grow, firmly holding the third place in Russia as a producer and supplier of strong alcohol, constantly replenishing its product portfolio and entering into new contracts on all continents. Among its offers to Russian connoisseurs are gin, tequila and rum from well-known American and European manufacturers, popular Russian cognacs Bastion and Stone Lion, a collection of wines from Chile, South Africa, Spain, Doctor August tinctures. And in 2016, a completely new product appeared on store shelves – bitter (strong alcohol with a bitter taste) Beluga Hunting.

Two significant events took place in 2017:

  • saw the release of a limited edition Beluga Epicure vodka in a crystal decanter and luxurious designer packaging, called Beluga Epicure By Lalique;
  • Synergy has officially changed its name and is now referred to as BELUGA GROUP.
