Fountain at the “Black Tulip”

The fountain on the square of the Soviet Army was the very first light and music fountain, which was installed in Yekaterinburg back in 1978. The western wing of the pool, in which the elevated part of the fountain is located, was overflowing with many jets of water, painted with the help of lanterns in red, green, blue and yellow colors. But in the last 10 years, the fountain has ceased to “glow” and simply pleases the eye of passers-by with its beauty. The jets of the fountain look especially beautiful when a rainbow falls on them, which happens very often in good weather.

The light, music and “dancing” fountain was installed in the Historical Square in September 2013, it consists of 260 lamps. Last year, the fountain began to “perform” the patriotic song “Yekaterinburg is my city!” The lighting and musical accompaniment are turned on three times a day for half an hour: at 20.00, 21.00 and 22.00. The fountain has a special mode of operation: at about noon, the static mode begins (that is, the jets do not “dance”, but at 110 pm the fountain begins to “sing” and “dance.” A modern computer program automatically controls the operation of 260 pumps, which provide water supply, and 20 lamps, decorating fountain jets in different colors, flying up to a height of XNUMX meters.

Fountain “Constellation” in the Central Park of Culture and Leisure

This symbol of the city appeared in Sverdlovsk in the 60s of the twentieth century. The green fountain was created under malachite and was designed based on the stories of Bazhov. Several years ago, colored lanterns were even lit in it. The flower, installed in the middle of the fountain, was cast from cast iron in the city of Kamensk-Uralsky. It has eight petals, among which there are ears of wheat.

The fountain was built in the late 80s. As conceived by the architect Vitaly Loskutov, it symbolizes a clean planet washed by jets of clear water. The continents were to be engraved on the 40-ton balloon, but the necessary specialists were not found in the city, and the balloon was left “naked”. This did not prevent the authors from receiving the de Gennin prize for this work. The “Shar” fountain is the result of the work of an international team: its central part was made by Ukrainian craftsmen, the foot was made in Kyrgyzstan, the rest is local, Ural.

The fountain behind the Opera and Ballet Theater

The fountain was completely renovated in 2014, along with a public garden near the Opera and Ballet Theater. In the middle of the oval basin, there are several dozen modern design nozzles. They create jets of two levels: those that are closer to the center of the bowl hit higher, those that are in a circle – lower. In the evening, the colored lighting makes the fountain even more beautiful. The supply and control of water lighting is carried out using a computer system. Opposite the fountain, there is a new small amphitheater, where visitors to the park have a rest.

Another young – 2016 – fountain in our city. It was designed by Rotterdam-based designer Riikki Tuomisto. The fountain is “inscribed” in the granite surface of the earth, thanks to which it becomes a shower for babies in the heat, and in the days of mass festivities or in winter it turns into an ordinary surface for walking. In total, more than 30 fountains, which have different settings for the power of the jets and their height, are beating out from under the “ground” – they “hide”, then “jump out” again. Children adore this fountain – it is for them that the “invisibility” is designed. By the way, another fountain with the same effect is turned on on a hot weekend on the central alley of the Central Park of Culture and Leisure.

Fountain “Time Machine” on the street. Weiner

The fountain has the official name “Time Machine”, and the unofficial name is “Kraken”. During the installation of the fountain, in 2006-2007, the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean” was shown on the screens of cinemas, and fans of the picture saw the tentacles of the giant Kraken octopus in the spiral racks. Tentacles sticking out of the water squeeze a simulated ship and drag it to the bottom. And the bubbling water of the fountain, inscribed in the metal piles, gives the effect of movement.

Fountain in the arboretum on the street. March 8

The fountain, located in the center of the arboretum, is considered one of the oldest in the city. The large bowl of the fountain was made of granite at the Khimmash plant in 1947. Its height reaches seven meters! Parts of the fountain were delivered to the park in two tanks. In the late 1970s, there were also 4 small fountains in his pool, which were later removed.

Fountains near the building of the Road Administration

Two fountains, each 7 meters in diameter, were installed in front of the Railway Administration building in 2008. In the evening, the fountains are illuminated with small blue-violet lights, the jets change their amplitude. The program unit automatically switches the water supply modes – there are four of them. Backlight and energy-saving lamps are mounted in the bottom.
