Foundation for oily skin: how to choose? Video
Oily skin has a number of disadvantages: it is very shiny, has enlarged pores and inflammation. That is why many owners of this skin type cannot imagine their life without using a foundation. There are many recommendations on how to choose it, but there are also key rules that should be followed in order not to aggravate the condition of the already problematic skin.
Which foundation is suitable for oily skin
When choosing a foundation, it is not enough to take into account only its shade, it is necessary to take into account the peculiarities of the skin. The oily type is characterized by excessive secretion of the skin hall. That is why a foundation for such skin must have a mattifying effect. To do this, manufacturers include absorbents and sebum-regulating ingredients in the product – zinc, coalin, talc, vitamins A and B, as well as sulfur. They inhibit the production of excess sebum and prevent the appearance of shine.
A good foundation for oily skin should protect it from ultraviolet radiation, have an antibacterial and drying effect. Please note that oils should not be present in beauty products, as they can harm problem skin by clogging pores. Ideal is a water-based foundation. However, you should not write off funds on a mineral basis.
Foundations for oily skin are usually marked on the tube: oil-control, oil-free or mattifying
The consistency of the cream is another important criterion when it comes to choosing it. Foundation for oily skin should have a liquid texture, but still provide a fairly dense coverage. Light creams are not able to properly mask imperfections.
In the meantime, don’t try to get an all-in-one cream. No product is capable of guaranteeing high resistance, as well as removing inflammation, rejuvenating, moisturizing and mattifying at the same time. Don’t be fooled by marketers’ gimmicks. Try to decide on one or two qualities of foundation that are most preferable for you.
Foundation for oily skin: application details
Foundation on oily skin should be applied with light movements, only lightly touching it. Do not in any way drive in the cream! Otherwise, you will clog your pores, leading to inflammation and acne. To even out the complexion and mask defects, a thin layer of the product will be quite enough – if you overdo it, you can see a frozen mask in the mirror instead of well-groomed skin.
Do not put powder on top of the foundation! Mixing with sebum, such a tonal “cocktail” is simply destructive for oily skin
Makeup artists recommend that owners of oily skin first use a special base for foundation, which has drying or healing properties. If possible, stop using foundation every day. Give your skin a rest, and blemishes and acne will help hide a concealer or concealer.
