Foundation brush: selection rules. Video

Perfect complexion is an integral part of a flawless make-up. To obtain beautiful skin, many resort to the help of a foundation that deftly corrects imperfections. In order for it to give an even coating, make-up artists recommend applying it not with your fingers, but with a special brush.

A foundation brush is not a whim, as many believe, but a really necessary beauty accessory. It has many advantages over fingers and sponges.

The main difference between the brush lies in the end result: it does not smear the cream, but drives it into the skin. This gives the impression that the foundation literally merges with the skin. The brush perfectly blends the cream, which is sometimes difficult to achieve when applied with your fingers.

If you prefer natural brushes, opt for raccoon bristles. It does not absorb the cream as actively

Efficiency is another important advantage of the brush. If you apply the cream with your fingers or a sponge, some of it is absorbed into them. When using a brush, there will be exactly as much cream on the face as it was squeezed out of the tube. This is especially true when using an expensive foundation.

How to choose a foundation brush

When choosing a foundation brush, pay attention to its bristle, size, thickness, and handle. Give preference to brushes with synthetic bristles. Their villi are tougher than natural ones. However, the latter strongly absorb the product, especially if it has a rather oily texture. Plus, the synthetic brush is easy to clean. It is easy to clean with a special product and dries quickly.

At least twice a week, the brushes should have a “bath day”. Ideally, wash them after each use. This is especially true for owners of problem skin.

The ideal foundation brush shouldn’t be too thick or stiff. If it is soft and sparse, you will not be able to achieve a good distribution of the cream. If the brush is packed tightly enough, it can easily scratch the skin.

The handle of this accessory must be firm and strong, without any defects. The base of the brush should be firmly fixed to the handle. The size of this accessory must be chosen based on convenience: give preference to the brush that will be comfortable for you to hold in your hand.

How to apply foundation with a brush

The foundation brushes are easy to use. Squeeze the cream onto the back of your hand, then put some on your brush. Place some points on the chin, forehead, and cheeks. Blend the cream over the face, from the center to the periphery. It is advisable to do this along the massage lines. Use a brush not to smear, but to drive in. This will allow the cream to more closely align with the skin and distribute evenly over it.
