Fosidal is a medicine used in family medicine, paediatrics and otolaryngology. Affects the respiratory system – treats symptoms of inflammatory diseases of the lungs and bronchi. It has anti-inflammatory properties. Fosidal is available as a syrup – only by prescription.

Indications for the use of Fosidal

Fosidal is intended for the treatment of the symptoms of inflammatory diseases of the bronchi and lungs, eliminates cough and facilitates expectoration. The active substance of the drug is fenspiryd – an organic chemical compound with a strong antiallergic and relaxing effect. Fosidal is available in the form of a syrup – it is recommended to take it before a meal.

Dosage

  1. Adults: 45-90 ml daily in divided doses.
  2. Children after 2 years of age: 4 mg per kilogram of body weight per day, i.e. children weighing less than 10 kg: 10-20 ml per day in divided doses; children weighing more than 10 kg: 30-60 ml daily in divided doses.

Contraindications to the use of Fosidal syrup

Hypersensitivity to any of its components is a contraindication to the use of Fosidal. Do not use in children under 2 years of age or during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
