In fact, rum is the usual vodka for us, only made from sugar cane, and some types are also aged for several years in oak barrels. The number of degrees in the drink depends on the type and specific brand. In most cases Roma strength varies from 37 to 48 degrees.
Some aged and undiluted varieties contain up to 75% alcohol, but this is very rare. Drinking such a strong rum is difficult – it burns the respiratory tract and mucous membranes.
When choosing rum, I advise you to focus on brands whose strength is comparable to vodka. For example, Bacardi rum, popular in Russia, contains about 40% alcohol, while its competitor Captain Morgan contains from 35 to 40 degrees.
