Properties of formic alcohol
Formic alcohol is a drug that is 1,4% formic acid solution. It is a colorless liquid and has a pungent odor. Formic acid itself has a strong antibacterial effect and, when used in its pure form, can cause skin burns. This drug is not a traditional medicine and is collected through a chemical reaction or excreted through needles, nettles, bees or ants.
Pure formic acid is practically not sold
Formic alcohol can be effective for more than just fighting acne.
It is prescribed for the following diseases:
- periarthritis
- myalgia
- neuralgia
- joint pain
- arthralgia
- poly- and monoarthritis
- removal of excess hair
It is worth noting that sairt should not be applied to inflamed and damaged skin, as well as drinking it. It is undesirable to use formic acid for people with dry skin – it works best for oily or combination skin. In some cases, formic acid has side effects and can cause itching, burning, and redness at the site of application.
Check skin for allergic reactions before use. To do this, apply alcohol to a small area of the skin and observe its reaction during the day. If inflammation appears, stop taking the drug.
To use, pour the required amount of formic alcohol onto a cotton pad, then apply it on your face with gentle circular motions. Pre-cleaning the skin should not be done: this can lead to the loss of additional moisture and subsequently simply dry out the skin of the face.
After application, you must wait until it is completely dry and make a mask or apply a moisturizer. The procedure can be repeated from two weeks to several months, depending on the reaction of the skin. At first, you can use the medicine once a day. In the event that after a few days you notice improvements, you can increase the number of doses up to 2 times.
Remember that formic alcohol is a real drug and must be used with caution. Before starting treatment, it is advisable to consult a dermatologist
During the use of the drug, carefully monitor the reaction of the skin. You can also alternate the formic alcohol application with milder acne products. This will help to keep the skin hydrated and the most effective approach to removing acne.
