In Poland, more and more parents decide not to vaccinate their children. Ewa Falkowska from UNICEF Polska spoke about the consequences of this in the program “Onet Rano.”
Poles do not want to vaccinate children
It is estimated that in the last 10 years the number of unvaccinated children in Poland has increased 14 times. What could this be?
– We often forget that vaccinations are what protects us against serious diseases. We have already forgotten about such diseases that have taken a terrible toll, such as polio, caused by Heine-Medina. It was a very serious disease that hit young children. Many of them remained disabled for the rest of their lives, said the UNICEF expert.

Ewa Falkowska pointed out that reluctance to vaccinate very often results from relying on fake news.
– As a result, we do not realize that diseases such as measles are very contagious diseases. If we go below a certain threshold securing the population, a very dangerous situation may arise – the return of these diseases and an outbreak of an epidemic. The specialist warned.
