A 5-year-old boy died in his mother’s arms.
Doctors gave little Charlie from England a few days of his life when they found out his diagnosis. The child was diagnosed with a rare type of liver cancer – hepatoblastoma.
His parents Amber and Ben Proctor tried to find money for a liver transplant, but could not collect even half of the required 856 thousand pounds (74 million 500 thousand rubles).
Charlie’s mom started a donation page on the Internet, where she talked about her son’s condition, how cancer takes its toll. The boy’s smile from his page could not leave you indifferent. Singer Pink, having learned about Charlie’s story, donated 10 thousand pounds for treatment and published his page on her social networks. But there was so little time for salvation, and the amount was simply enormous. In addition, the operation had to be performed in the United States – in his native country, the child was denied a liver transplant.
A 5-year-old boy died in the arms of his mother. His last words were: “Mom, forgive me for this.”
The woman posted a photo of her baby with angel wings to announce his death to thousands of people who followed his story.
“Last night at 23:14 pm, my best friend, my world, Charlie, took his last breath,” Amber wrote. – He fell asleep peacefully, hugging me and his dad. Our hearts ache. The world has lost such a wonderful boy. “
“Charlie, you gave me the chance to become a mom. You have not only been the biggest inspiration for us, you have inspired thousands of people around the world. You showed me what love really means. Now is the time to fly away. I am so proud of you. You fought so hard. My baby, it hurts so much. I will never forget you. Sweet dreams, my boy. “
Now the mother of the deceased boy curses the local health care, which refused to treat her child.
“Our doctors said a liver transplant would not work, given Charlie’s condition,” Amber said. “And I just get sick when I think that my boy could live now if we had money.”
As the cancer spread from the liver to the lungs, the baby looked increasingly fragile in the photographs on its page.
“Every day he looks less like Charlie, my tough guy. He is so thin that I can feel every bone in his tiny body, “- wrote my mother in the blog.
In the last days of his life, a 5-year-old boy weighed only 4,5 kilograms.
“He’s so tired and depressed. He is fed up with his illness, – wrote Amber in the diary of her dying son. “I don’t know what to do next,” he repeated … No child should feel what Charlie felt. No parent should see his child slowly leave this world. “
