Forever young: 5 rules to slow down the aging process

Over time, everyone feels the unpleasant signs of aging – the reaction is no longer the same, in the morning it is extremely difficult to stretch the joints, and memory is failing more and more often. Also, the night’s sleep worsens, and during the day it pulls to take a nap. Often you have to console yourself with various excuses: I’m not getting old, it’s just that fatigue, stress, and problems have accumulated. Gerontologists, on the other hand, prefer to face the truth. According to experts, already closer to forty, their patients turn to health complaints caused by age-related changes. However, there is still a way to prevent their occurrence. For this, doctors give five specific recommendations that will help prolong youth for at least ten years.

1. Change of power supply

Thus, the practicing physician and scientist Federica Amati has identified five “blue zones” on the planet with the maximum life expectancy. Among them: the Japanese island of Okinawa, Italian Sardinia, the Greek Ikaria, the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica and the Loma Linda region in California. According to her, the abnormal number of centenarians in these places is due to their diet – they adhere to a plant-based diet, consuming fruits, vegetables, cereals and beans.

“Consuming a combination of these foods on a daily basis helps support our body’s immune and anti-inflammatory functions for a long and healthy life,” she explained.

2. Daily charging

The second recommendation is to move more. Amati explained that it is necessary to walk at least five thousand steps every day. This can be a walk with your family in the park, a trip to the store, or a simple abandonment of the elevator in favor of the stairs and your two.

In addition, the specialist notes that you should definitely include physical exercise in your schedule. A moderate sports load can not only keep the body in good shape, but also have a positive effect on the state of the entire body. Just 30-40 minutes of vigorous training will help keep you young for years to come.

3. Be content with little

Another tip is to stick to moderate food intake. So, according to the doctor, on the Japanese island of Okinawa, people prefer to be satiated by only 80 percent. So it is worth trying to at least gradually reduce the portion size. In the late afternoon, opt for fresh vegetables and lean fish.

“People in the“ blue zones ”have their least food intake in the early evening, after which they do not eat any more for the rest of the day,” added Amati.

4. Down with bad habits

It’s no secret that alcohol abuse and smoking negatively affect not only your appearance, but also your health in general. As you age, the consequences of a sleepless night after a bar party become more difficult to hide. In the end, such a lifestyle leads to the fact that traces of ignoring this rule are difficult to hide even under an impressive layer of cosmetics.

5. Relax!

It is important to remember about the dangers of stress on our health. Doctors convince: increased anxiety leads to chronic fatigue, somatic problems and premature aging. If you plan to extend the years of your happy youth, then you need to significantly reduce the number of stressful situations in life.

For this, experts recommend engaging in various spiritual practices. For example, yoga and meditation do an excellent job of this. The main thing here is regularity.
