Forearm fractures – treatment

Both bones of the forearm or each of them can be fractured. They may be accompanied by a dislocation of one bone at the elbow or wrist joint.

A fracture of both bones of the forearm occurs in direct trauma or during a fall on an extended and rotated limb.

It is a difficult treatment problem and usually requires surgical treatment. In the area of ​​the forearm, we often find named fractures of the distal radius a fracture in a typical place or Colles fracture. It is characterized by a bayonet wrist position, soreness and swelling in this area.

Treatment

Forearm bone fractures require anatomical orientation of the fragments, which is possible with surgical treatment.
