Forcing tulips by March

Planting bulbs in a nutrient substrate is carried out in October. As a soil mixture, you can use vermiculite, a mixture of sand with peat or soil for flowers. To neutralize the acidity of the substrate, it is necessary to lime it.

Stages of planting bulbs for distillation:

1. Fill the prepared containers 2/3 with the substrate and lightly compact its surface.
2. Spread the bulbs 1 to 1,5 cm apart and press them lightly into the soil.
3. Fill the planting material with the rest of the substrate to the edges of the container.
4. Water the plantings with a solution of 0,2% calcium nitrate.
5. Cover the bare tops of the onions completely with soil.

Store containers with tulips in a cool room at t – 0-10 ° C. By the end of December, the temperature should be lowered to –4 ° C. About 3 weeks before the expected flowering, the containers are transferred to a warm room. Seedling care consists of watering and feeding the seedlings with calcium nitrate – this will increase the brightness and number of flowers.

As you can see, growing flowers in winter is not such a difficult task, you just need to be patient and follow all the recommendations of specialists.
