Selenium (translated from the Greek means “moon”) is a trace element of youth, activity and productivity, opened in 1817 by the Swedish mineralogist Jens Jacob Berzelius.

Together with tellurium, polonium, oxygen, sulfur, it belongs to chalcogen.
