Food poisoning: why the stomach hurts

Food poisoning, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting – and this is not a complete list of “surprises” that you can find on your shopping bag. Do you want to know how to avoid these troubles? Read our article soon.

Recently, it has become fashionable to abandon the plastic bags that most supermarkets offer and pack food in your pre-brought canvas or other bag. Protectors of nature, for example, believe that in this way we save the planet from harmful waste, but at the same time they do not at all think about the negative impact this has on the human body. But British scientists, for example, did not just think, but conducted a whole study, as a result of which they found out that seemingly harmless shopping bags are actually fraught with danger.

Many people deliberately take special bags with them for shopping, which nowadays can be found even in the most luxury brands. It is believed that it is safer than the same polyethylene. and such a household accessory can be used many times, unlike bags that break at the most inopportune moment. However, the reality turned out to be not so simple. British scientists have found that if, say, you carry raw meat, semi-finished products, vegetables and fruits in one bag, you can get a whole bunch of dangerous diseases. Unconsciously, of course.

Therefore, researchers recommend sorting the products and purchasing a separate bag for each category, which must be washed regularly and dried thoroughly. And raw meat must be carefully packed in a bag (or better not in one) and only then send it to your bag. Experts explain that, for example, many packages of chicken meat contain Campylobacter, which can cause food poisoning with diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. In addition, salmonella and E. coli can be found on the same packages, which, alas, are sometimes fatal.

Therefore, so that your grocery shopping is not overshadowed by dangerous bacteria, just follow basic safety rules, do not put different categories of food in one bag and do not forget to wash your “assistant” as often as possible.
