Food and Gastronomy in the Cinema

Spring of cinema with the eco-gastronomic cycle of Slow food on film of Aragon.

The International Association Slow Food, at its headquarters in Zaragoza, presents its cycle of films in an atmosphere full of good table and especially who the author.

The first appointment will be this Sunday, May 17 and the cycle will close on Sunday May 31 with a very interesting sample of films throughout the two weeks of screenings.

Gastronomy is culture and at the same time an endless source of inspiration not only for chefs.

Author cinema lovers have in these competitions a unique opportunity to enjoy in a grouped way the films of culinary and ecology lovers, as the organizational foundations of Slow Food Aragon.

What is and what surrounds Slow Food Aragón?

The international organization was founded by Carlo Petrini andn 1986, and currently has 100.000 followers throughout the headquarters of countries such as Italy, Germany, Switzerland, USA, France, Japan, etc.

Its main mission is to give value to food, enjoying its flavors and preparation possibilities, learning and knowing the places of production and elaboration of these within a philosophy of natural balance and respect for the environment.

This is how the Slow Food concept of eco-gastronomy was born:

Unite respect and the study of food and wine culture with the support of those in the world who are in charge of defending agri-food biodiversity.

The people who make up the association are a diverse group of artisan producers, farmers, fishermen, bakers, agronomists, scientists, cooks, creatives, journalists, documentary makers … 

All under a common idea that this time seeks to bring it to the big screens, responsible consumption and food care.

The different local associations of each country are called Slowfood Conviviums, and this is the origin of the Aragonese community, which apart from sponsoring this contest, develops different activities with the support of the Conviviums (local entities) of Zaragoza, Osca, Ribagorza and Teruel de tastings, pairings, tastings, trips, gastronomic culture seminarsEtc. …

The Show and its Film sessions

In the projection room of CAI Luzán, Zaragoza, the films will be shown for an amount of 4 euros each, appearing on the different days of celebrations.

  • Sunday, the 17th will be screened “Bottle Shock“(Wine war) Of Randall Miller.
  • Sunday 24, “The Emotional Anonymouss ”(Shy Anonymous) Of Jean Pierre Ameris.
  • Sunday 31 “Shepherds in the mist“, of Domingo Moreno.
