Food and Cinema in the Canary Islands

Enjoying a good movie is always welcome if, in the intermissions or intermissions, we can taste an exquisite selection of international food.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria once again celebrates the now traditional film and gastronomy festival that has as its title Who + Food.

This year, screenings and events will be held on September 1, 2, 3 and 4 in the Santa Catalina Park, in the city.

Fifty films will be screened during the days of the event where films such as Gernika, by Koldo Serra; Far from the sea, by Imanol Uribe, both previews of this year’s festival and some already known but no less interesting such as Truman, by Cesc Gay; The room, by Lenny Abrahamson; The Look of Silence, by Joshua Oppenheimer; Macbeth, by Justin Kurzel, or The Son of Saúl, by László Nemes.

An interesting gastronomic proposal.

The part of the food that brings together the other percentage of the festival offer will be distributed in two main blocks.

On the one hand, you will be able to enjoy the elaborations that the local hoteliers prepare for the occasion in the tents at the back of the enclosure, and at the same time there will be live activities such as the show cooking and masterclass that will lead Carlos Maldonado placeholder image, winner of the 2105 edition of the television program Masterchef by TVE.

On the other hand, the cinema and gastronomy meeting will offer gastronomy from four continents at popular prices, with dishes from the traditional cuisines of dishes from France, Peru, Cuba, Indonesia, Morocco, India, Japan, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark.

At the back of the Miller Building, the booths of Venezuela, Germany, Argentina, Senegal, Spain, Mexico, South Korea, Italy, Portugal, the United States will be housed, along with the local Canarian representation.

The prices of the dishes will move between the range of € 3 and € 5, and you can taste delicacies such as chicken skewers with peanuts, tandoori chicken, assorted sushi, pizzas, arepas, cous cous, quesadillas, burritos, etc …

A perfect plan to enjoy with the family and combine the delight of international cuisine with the taste of a good movie.
