Food advertising affects taste and appetite

Children are the most receptive to advertising, which is what product manufacturers use. The average child sees about 20 food commercials per day. About 10% of these videos are about fast food, and more than a third advertise sweets. Fast food advertising is so effective that many children refuse to eat regular food.

An interesting experiment was carried out in America: children were allowed to taste the same products in plain and McDonald’s packaging. More than half of the children said the food at McDonald’s tasted better.

Popular cartoon characters are widely used in advertising products for children. For example, with the help of Shrek, about 70 names of products for children were advertised. Disney Corporation, whose characters previously appeared in advertising, have not been in contact with McDonald’s for 2 years due to the problem of overweight in children.
