Floor in the gazebo: wooden flooring, stone laying, paving stones, tiles, concrete pad + photo and description of different coatings

The flooring in the gazebo wears out pretty quickly. And this applies even to enclosed spaces in which the coating is protected from the effects of the street. The floor in the gazebo loses its attractive appearance due to various factors, especially if a barbecue is provided in the room. Therefore, the coating should be not only beautiful, but also reliable.

Floor device features

In order for the floor in the gazebo to serve for a long time, while maintaining an aesthetic appearance, you need to responsibly treat its installation.

Each coverage has its own requirements. In the case of an adobe surface, ordinary soil is sufficient, for a terrace board – wooden logs, for tiles you will need a good concrete screed.

Much depends on the design of the gazebo. For a simple welded structure, it is enough to fix the flooring to the frame. If you want a more reliable option, you will need more money and time.

It is advisable to lay the floor in the gazebo immediately after the construction of the foundation. A “platform” is created that occupies the entire area of uXNUMXbuXNUMXbthe base. Usually choose a columnar foundation.

Materials

The most common materials from which the floor covering is created:

  1. Wood. It is chosen for its low price and easy installation. The lags are attached to the lower harness, then you can proceed to the main workflow.
  2. Paving slabs or stone. Incredibly durable, they look attractive, but they are not cheap, and they also require a concrete pad.
  3. Cutting board. The most affordable option.
  4. Tree cuts. They look original, are laid on the floor, filled with mortar and varnished.
  5. Decking made of wood-polymer composite (WPC). Rectangular or square deck boards. The connection of the components is similar to the laminate. Plastic lasts a long time and is unpretentious in care.
  6. Oriented strand board (OSB) is multi-layered, reliable, durable and inexpensive.
  7. Cement particle board (DSP) is a practical material that allows you to avoid pouring concrete on the floor. DSPs are laid on logs, a smooth and hard coating is obtained.

Concrete screed is sometimes treated as a separate category. It acts more like a base for the floor. However, some users appreciate the reliability and durability of such a coating.

Technology

Do-it-yourself flooring is quite realistic. You just need to draw up drawings, stock up on material and tools. The working algorithm is formed depending on the conditions of the territory and the design of the gazebo. It is best to lay the floor on a concrete foundation. There are situations easier when the coating is installed simply on the frame.

wood flooring

Wood flooring is the most popular. This flooring looks great, is inexpensive, does not cause problems in installation. If you follow the installation step by step, you will save time and minimize errors:

  1. We make the top harness.
  2. We lay logs and wooden beams. We fix the structure – bolts are suitable for this. To make the connection stronger, we recommend using mounting brackets.
  3. Laying floor boards. It is better to choose not too thick components.
  4. We process the material. Use an antiseptic. In order to prevent such protective measures should be done at least twice a year.

As a decorative finish, cover the flooring with varnish or paint.

Concrete screed

This option will ideally fit into the conditions of a massive veranda in the country. Often, a concrete screed can be found in gazebos with a barbecue. The covering without problems maintains high loadings, does not cause troubles in operation. Often a concrete screed is used as a base for further flooring.

Usually, the concrete covering in the gazebo is made in the form of a screed on the ground inside the strip foundation. Let’s look into this in more detail:

  1. Inside the tape base, we remove the top layer of soil. It is desirable that the surface is smooth.
  2. We fall asleep a layer of sand 15 cm thick. We carefully tamp. We fall asleep a layer of rubble – about 10 cm. We also compact it.
  3. Along the perimeter, from the inside of the foundation, we install a damper tape, which will keep a gap of 2 cm. In addition, it will allow the concrete to become wider, avoiding cracks.
  4. We lay a reinforcing mesh on the rubble, the floor needs to be poured with concrete.

The optimal screed layer is 4-6 cm. Fill it to the level of the base or slightly lower.

Paving slabs

An excellent choice if the priority is the elegant look and durability of the material. To lay the tiles on the floor, first remove the top layer of soil, make a frame where the components will be placed. For convenience, concrete curbs are erected or laid inside the strip base.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Pour a layer of sand 5 cm, level. We pour from a hose, we ram.
  2. We prepare a dry mixture of sand and cement. We fall asleep on top of the previous coating. The optimal layer thickness is 4–5 cm. We distribute the mixture with a rake.
  3. We stretch the thread to the desired mark – this will be a guide when laying.
  4. We lay out the components, starting from the corner. This will avoid deformation of the surface.
  5. For tight joining, each tile is rammed using a rubber mallet.
  6. When the whole tile is laid, we mount the remaining fragments. Most likely, you can not do without pruning, for which use a grinder.
  7. Check the surface for unevenness. If any are identified, we shift the curved pieces. We finally tamp the surface of the tiles.
  8. We seal the seams with a dry cement-sand mortar.
  9. Wash the surface, wait until it dries. Eliminate the remains of building material.

Sometimes, as an alternative to tiles, a stone or paving stone floor is laid out. Looks beautiful and natural. But it is quite difficult to work with such material, and it is difficult to select fragments.

A budget option

To save on construction, but get a decent flooring, it is better to use an edged board. Among the features of this budget option:

  1. Wooden chocks serve as the foundation. We dig them in at the corners of the gazebo, pull the twine according to the level.
  2. To tightly fasten the strapping boards, we cut off the rounded part of the stumps from the inside with a chainsaw. They should be flat.
  3. We nail a couple of planed boards to wooden poles.
  4. We fasten the second pair of strapping boards to the corners.
  5. Ends for good docking should be smooth.
  6. We lay the boards on the logs. To correct fragments, use a miter saw or electric jigsaw.
  7. From above we fasten the boards with self-tapping screws.

It turns out inexpensive, but decent flooring. For additional protection of the material, treat it with an antiseptic.

As you can see, the floor can be made in different ways. The main thing is to choose high-quality material and correctly install it. You can manage on your own. Make a project, calculate the material and prepare the tool. Doing everything step by step, you end up with a beautiful and reliable flooring.
