Flexove are tablets with glucosamine as the main ingredient. The agent is available only on prescription, the package contains 60 tablets. What is the correct dosage of the drug? Can the drug have side effects?

Flexove – application

Flexove is a medicine that contains glucosamine. Flexove has a positive effect on cartilage, which minimizes the symptoms associated with inflammation of the knee joints, and the drug prevents cartilage degeneration. The active substance of the drug is glucosamine, which is an amino sugar found in the human body. Glucosamine in combination with proteins forms proteoglycans, which are one of the components of connective tissue. As for the mechanism of action of glucosamine in the body, it is not yet fully clear. It is known for sure that glucosamine induces the biosynthesis of proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycans, which in turn protects the cartilage against its degeneration.

After ingestion, glucosamine is absorbed very quickly from the gastrointestinal tract, the maximum concentration of the substance in the plasma of the substance is reached from 10 to 24 hours after application. Flexove is recommended for mild to moderate inflammation of the knee and other joints. The dosage and its frequency is determined by a specialist doctor, please also read the instructions in the package leaflet. The tablet must not be chewed, chewed, but swallowed whole, the medicine should also be washed down with more water. Flexove can be taken regardless of the time of day or meals.

Flexove – precautions

Not all patients can take the drug or must be especially careful in its use. During the treatment, the orthopedist may change the dosage of the drug or discontinue it altogether and introduce a substitute drug. Flexove should not be used by people who are allergic or hypersensitive to any of the ingredients of the drug. Flexove is not recommended for patients with reduced tolerance to glucose, asthma, high cholesterol, or liver or kidney problems.

Flexove cannot be combined with other medications, so inform your specialist about all prescription and over-the-counter medications. The drug should not be combined with tetracycline or acenocoumarol. The doctor should also be informed if the patient is pregnant, the breastfeeding woman should not take Flexove. The drug may cause side effects:

  5. constipation
  6. diarrhea
  7. reddening of the skin
  8. itching

Inform your doctor about all disturbing symptoms. No studies have been carried out to confirm or exclude a negative effect of the drug on the level of concentration, memory or the ability to drive vehicles or operate larger devices and machines.
