- strength, without it it will be very difficult to bring out even a small copy;

- resistance to pike teeth, this will save tackle when biting.

What fishing line to use for catching pike largely depends on the fishing method, that is, it is important to first consider how exactly the capture will be made. For bottom fishing in the autumn, thicker diameters with a large margin of safety will be needed, but in summer and spring, thinner fishing lines are chosen for pike. Spinning
The best basis for fishing with a spinning blank is a line, with a small thickness it has excellent breaking performance. A braided fishing line is selected for pike, depending on the casting performance of the rod, as well as on the estimated size of the inhabitants of the selected reservoir.
The diameter of the cord will also fluctuate from the time of year:
- in spring, it is recommended to put a thinner base, which will be minimally noticeable in the water and will not extinguish the game of small lures for this period;
- in summer it all depends on the depths being fished, the more they are, the thicker the cord is needed, but you should not overdo it either;
- the thickness of the braid for autumn is needed more, especially in the second half, the zhor and aggression of the predator should not cut off the collected tackle.
The fishing line is also put on spinning rods, but you need to choose from more well-known manufacturers with good casting performance.
It is worth remembering that ordinary knots on a fishing line reduce its breaking load by almost half. For the formation of gear, it is necessary to use special fishing gear.
Zakidushka
This type of fishing is used in the autumn period almost before the freeze-up, so the base should be thick enough. Experienced anglers recommend using monofilament line to collect tackle.
The thickness of the fishing line for the snack is decent, it is preferable to select for this at least 0,45 mm in diameter and thicker. This is explained by the fact that a thinner trophy pike will break without problems.

For pike, the thickness is undoubtedly important, but the color scheme also plays an important role. For spinning, especially in spring and autumn, bright cords are often used; even a small poke of a pike into the bait can be seen through them, but in summer such a color can scare away all the fish in the area. And the fishing line can be colored, is it worth using bright options?

- the copolymer type is made according to complex technological processes, they will have different features.
The first view will always be transparent, the other two can be colored.
When choosing a monofilament fishing line, you should carefully consider its vein, it should be transparent, have a glassy appearance. This is the key to the strength of your choice.
Network
The thickness of the fishing line from the thickness of the braid will differ greatly with the same breaking loads, which is precisely what explains its great popularity among users. The process of making a braid is based on the interweaving of several fibers, there are two types of such a base:
- Cord woven from several fibers.
- Woven from multiple sheathed fibers.
Most anglers prefer the unsheathed option, but the latter is also a success.
It should be understood that the cord will be less elastic, but the softness will be at a high level.
Fluorocarbon
This type of base has its drawbacks and advantages, it is a special type of material that anglers are very fond of. Among the positive qualities it is worth highlighting:
- invisibility in the water column;
- resistance to abrasion during operation;
- complete lack of memory;
- moderate hardness;
- sinking quickly;
- not afraid of exposure to ultraviolet radiation;
- tolerates sudden changes in temperature.
However, the significantly lower breakout rates have prompted anglers to use fluorocarbon as leaders for any of the gear they collect.
