PSYchology

The many temptations of modern life are stealing our precious sleep time!

Having studied its duration in middle-aged men and women, epidemiologist Diane Lauderdale and her colleagues from the University of Chicago (USA) argue that we not only sleep much less than we need, but even … less than we think! While in bed for an average of 7,5 hours, the subjects slept only 6,1 hours, and it took them about 22 minutes to fall asleep. “We devote less time to sleep than our ancestors, although they are much better informed about the benefits of sleep for health and performance,” Dr. Lauderdale regrets and urges: do not suppress your desire to sleep with work, study or nightly entertainment!
