The first impression is the image and emotional attitude to this image that other people form from the person they saw for the first time in a particular setting.
The effect of the first impression is the influence of the opinion about the person, which was formed by the subject in the first minutes at the first meeting, on the further assessment of the activities and personality of this person.
The first impression is formed in a few seconds and is fixed within the next minute. It depends on the following factors:
- How a person keeps his body (posture, gait, gestures, look, facial expressions).
- With what voice and with what intonations he speaks. (What tone and timbre, confidently or with excitement, weighty or vice versa, etc.)
- The first impression also depends on the meaning of the spoken words, but to a much lesser extent than on the first two points.
