First aid with improvised means

In the literal sense of the word “will save”. It turns out that every kitchen has an indispensable set in case of the apocalypse.

You cut yourself, planted a splinter, you were stung by a bee – for emergency assistance in such situations, things that you use every day, but did not even suspect about their secret properties, will come in handy.

1. Oatmeal

It’s not just a great breakfast, it’s also skin-saving. An oatmeal bath relieves sunburn pain and redness, helps with eczema, and can even relieve itching from the touch of poison ivy. You just need to pour the oatmeal into a stocking or sock and throw it into the water.

2. Copper

Not just a healthy sweetness, but also a great anti-inflammatory. In addition, it helps with burns: if you lubricate the affected area with honey and cover with gauze, the wound will heal much faster. This is because honey relieves inflammation and disinfects the skin.

3. Tea bags

Wday.ru has already written about their magical properties. Recall that tea bags are not only able to remove morning swelling from the eyelids, but also have anti-inflammatory properties. The tea leaves relieve itching from a sting, even a bee sting, and helps with skin irritation.

4. Scotch tape

A piece of cloth and tape make an excellent bandage if you don’t have a bandage at hand. It will keep dirt out of the wound and help stop bleeding. But you should not leave such a bandage for a long time, because under it the skin does not breathe at all. And in combination with a ruler of scotch tape, you can build a tire if you suddenly need to immobilize a limb.

5. Tampon

Sorry, but true. This feminine hygiene item and its absorbent properties can work wonders. Stopping nosebleeds is easy. A swab for a bleeding wound? Perfect solution. By the way, pads are also good as dressings.

6. Plastic card

Even if she has no money, she is able to help you. If you planted a splinter or a bee stung you, the stuck thorn can be pulled out with this piece of plastic. It is thin enough to pick up the tip of a sting or splinter.

7. Bra

From it you can very quickly build a mask in case a fire suddenly starts. The bra cups filter out smoke, dust and other unpleasant particles in the air, allowing you to breathe normally.

8. Vinegar

It has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. Therefore, they can treat a small wound, burn or inflammation. But here it is important not to overdo it. If you have not just a solution, but the essence of acetic acid, you can also harm yourself – concentrated vinegar burns.

9. Superglue

The remedy, frankly, is dubious. But if you cut yourself, and there is nothing to close the wound, you can glue its edges with superglue. This will prevent the wound from becoming infected, but it can cause burning, itching, and other discomfort if the glue gets inside the wound. Therefore, it must be applied very sparingly and carefully.
