The formula for calculating the volume of a ball
1. Through the radius
The volume (V) of a sphere is equal to four-thirds of the product of its cubed radius and the number π.
Note: in calculations the value of the number π rounded up to 3,14.
2. Through diameter
The diameter of a sphere is equal to two of its radii: d = 2R. So, the formula for calculating the volume can look like this:

Calculate the volume of a sphere if its radius is 3 cm.

Find the volume of a sphere if its diameter is known to be 12 cm.

We use the second formula, in which the diameter is involved:
