Figure skating for children: sports, section, send a child, school, years
Figure skating for children is most often chosen by parents who are not indifferent to this wonderful sport. Young athletes start training from about 4 years old. It is interesting to ride the skating rink not only for kids, but also for teenagers. At what age to lead a child to figure skating depends on the goals and capabilities of the parents.
Figure skating is a very beautiful, spectacular sport, the performance of figure skaters in competitions is breathtaking. Unfortunately, free education can only be counted on in Olympic reserve schools. The choice of the place of study depends on the goals set. If we are not talking about a serious sports career, lessons with an instructor at a city skating rink are quite suitable.
Parents who have decided to help the young athlete in everything have many questions about the upcoming training. There are a couple of points that are useful to pay attention to:
- you need to buy professional skates made of high-quality steel, with a leather boot the size of your feet, securely fixing, but not squeezing it;
- you will need a set of clothes for ice skating, a tracksuit, for training in the gym, sneakers and skates with you to classes at a sports school;
- It is advisable for young children to buy a thermal suit for training on ice, it will not let them get wet from sweat and get too cold, a light hat is needed on the head, a scarf on the throat, and thin gloves with rubberized inserts on the palms on the hands.
Each school has its own rules and schedule, parents will be introduced to it upon admission. The trainer conducts classes in the gym and on the ice alternately. The older the baby becomes, the greater the load, the total training time per day also increases gradually.
The benefits of figure skating when giving a child
Even if the child does not become a professional athlete, figure skating lessons will undoubtedly benefit him. They can be started from 3-4 years old
First of all, the baby will become stronger, will not get sick with respiratory viral diseases. Some famous skaters are living proof of this. For example, Evgeni Plushenko was very painful until the age of 4, until he was sent to figure skating.
The second advantage is the formation of a strong muscular corset, which will avoid posture problems, including scoliosis. Agility, endurance, precise coordination of movements, grace and plasticity are another positive result of constant training.
To avoid injuries, choose skates exactly according to the size of your feet, tighten the laces tightly before going out on the ice, wear protective knee pads for your baby when working out hazardous elements.
If the kid is delighted with ice skating, he needs to find a sports section. It’s good when the child’s desires coincide with the capabilities of the parents, their support will help a young athlete achieve unprecedented heights.
