It is no secret that food has no effect on our skin. Although usually diet alone is not enough, because appropriate cosmetics (and sometimes even medications) are also necessary, a proper diet will certainly help the body in the fight for a face free of pimples. Acne is not only a problem for teenagers – it often bothers well into their twenties, and the treatment process can take a long time, in addition not always bringing the desired results.
The acne diet is quite strict, but it can be good for our figure, complexion and health. Although some doctors believe that food does not affect the development of this disease, certainly discontinuation of certain products will contribute to improving the condition of the skin. Many people who don’t even have acne, but only occasional pimples on their face, usually notice breakouts after eating something spicy or highly processed food, such as chips. So it’s hard to deny the impact of diet on our complexion.
Artificial and processed – to the trash!
The anti-acne diet is primarily about eating healthy, easily digestible products and those that will support detox, i.e. cleansing the body. To this end, avoid fried foods, fatty cheeses, animal fats and butter. Oil must be replaced with olive oil, and some products should be completely abandoned:
- Highly processed – containing dyes, preservatives and flavorings, i.e. sweet, salty snacks, carbonated drinks, products with a long shelf life,
- Sweets – mainly chocolate, even the bitter one,
- fast food,
- Hot spices – pepper, paprika and even salt. Replace them with herbs,
- Processed carbohydrates – pasta and white bread. Instead, choose wholemeal pasta and dark bread,
- Cigarettes – they are generally harmful to the complexion, they can also exacerbate the symptoms of acne,
- Alcohol – do not drink it too often, one glass of wine is allowed.
What foods improve the appearance of the skin?
