1/ 5 Eating fruits and vegetables protects against disease

Yes, apple, carrot and orange do not contain fat. However, they are not only harmless but also healthy. Some of them should be eaten for their antioxidant properties, others because they contain fiber, and others because they can provide essential fatty acids. All of this will help lower overall cholesterol levels and improve the ratio between “bad” LDL cholesterol and its “good” counterpart, HDL. How often do you have a Pap smear? 2/ 5 Oxidized LDL is deposited on the walls of the veins

LDL becomes dangerous to health when it is oxidized. Then the probability that it will settle on the walls of the blood vessels increases. Our menu must therefore include antioxidants that inhibit the harmful effects of free radicals in the body. How often do you have a Pap smear? Check if it’s not too rare!

3/ 5 Antioxidants help fight bad cholesterol and cancer

The most popular of these is vitamin C, found in most vegetables and fruits. Other antioxidants are carotenoids, which are present in yellow and orange-colored products. That is why the “anti-cholesterol tables” must not be complete without carrots, oranges, mandarins and peppers. The same role is played by anthocyanins – red and purple pigments present in raspberries, blueberries, grapes, beets and black currants. In short – the more colorful, the healthier it is. There are also antioxidants in onions (quercetin, flavonoids), apple peel (flavonoids), and tomatoes (lycopene). In cereal grains and nuts, we find another antioxidant – vitamin E. Food containing antioxidants is important not only in lowering cholesterol, but also delaying the aging process and preventing cancer. How often do you have a Pap smear? Check if it’s not too rare!

5/ 5 Vegetables and fruit are best eaten raw

It is easy to lose valuable ingredients when cooking a meal, even if you cook or store it for too long. The least resistant to storage are berries. If we do not have to, do not peel the vegetables (e.g. cucumbers, eggplants). Vitamin C is lost during the grinding of products, and also under the influence of contact with oxygen. Let’s eat the prepared salad as soon as possible. Adding olive oil to it will increase the health value of the meal. Eating two apples with their skin on a daily basis can lower cholesterol by up to 16% over time. Two glasses of orange juice will not only lower your total and LDL cholesterol levels, but will also raise your HDL levels.
