Fig liqueur: 6 recipes at home

Fig fruit alcohol has a wonderful fragrant bouquet, besides it is incredibly useful.

Classic fig liqueur

To obtain a pleasant shade, the finished product can be tinted with berry juice, oak bark, nut shells, etc.

Ingredients

  1. Ripe fresh figs – 1 kg

  2. Water – 800 g

  3. Sugar – 1 kg

  4. Alcohol – 1 l

Method of preparation

  1. Mash well-washed figs, cover with water, let it brew for 5 days.

  2. Strain the infusion, squeeze in a gauze bag of 4-5 layers.

  3. Pour the liquid into a jar, add sugar, pour alcohol, mix well.

  4. Let the drink stand by closing the container with a lid.

  5. Filter the liquor, pour into small containers, keep in dry conditions.

Spicy fig liqueur

For alcoholization, you can use any strong alcohol: vodka, moonshine, cognac. The amount of sugar is determined by your taste.

Ingredients

  1. Figs – 5 berries

  2. Alcohol – 0,5 liters

  3. Sugar – 150-200 g

  4. Water – 200 g

  5. Ginger – 20 g

  6. Carnation – 1-2 pcs.

Method of preparation

  1. Wash ginger and figs, cut into cubes, put in a glass vessel.

  2. Pour cloves, pour alcohol, knead and leave in a closed container for 2 weeks, shaking regularly.

  3. Pass the infusion through gauze, squeeze out the solid mass, dissolve sugar in the liquid and transfer the drink to coolness.

  4. After 5-6 days, pour the liquor into small bottles.

Fig leaf liqueur

The drink turns out fragrant and is well drunk with ice or in cocktails.

Ingredients

  1. Gin – 2 l

  2. Water – 2 L

  3. Fig leaves – 40 pcs.

  4. Sugar – 1,5 kg

Method of preparation

  1. Wash the leaves, dry, divide into 3 parts, pour two of them with gin and leave to infuse in cool and dark for 24 hours.

  2. Strain the infusion, pour into a fresh bottle, add half the water.

  3. Sweeten the second part of the water with sugar, brew hot syrup.

  4. Grind the remaining leaves with a blender, mix with the cooled syrup and let it brew for 24 hours.

  5. Filter the infusion, heat it to a hot state (do not boil!), let it cool and pour it into the first drink.

  6. Take the mixture to a cool, shaded cubbyhole and leave for two weeks or more.

Fig honey liqueur with spices

The mixture of spices can be selected at your discretion. Must have cardamom. As an addition, cloves, black pepper, ginger, cinnamon, fennel are suitable. Liquor is good as a digestif and as a warming drink in the cold season.

Ingredients

  1. Dried figs – 25 pcs.

  2. Cognac (brandy) – 0,75 liters

  3. Spices – 2 tsp

  4. Liquid honey – 0,35 l

  5. Water – 1 glass

Method of preparation

  1. Boil water, add spices, let it brew for 5 minutes, strain, dissolve honey in the liquid, wait for it to cool.

  2. Pour the spicy infusion into a large vessel, add cognac and finely chopped figs to it, shake the mixture.

  3. Close the container, transfer to a cool corner without access to light, leave for 2-4 days.

  4. Pass the infusion through a cloth and cotton wool, distribute into small vessels, let it ripen for about 1 year.

Christmas fig liqueur

The drink is ideal as an aperitif, combined with sparkling water, lemon and ice. It is better to have a snack with cheese dishes, dried fruits and smoked sausage. For cooking, instead of port, you can use a mixture of red wine, sugar and cognac.

Ingredients

  1. Dried figs – 400 g

  2. Vanilla – 1 pod or sachet

  3. Coriander – 2 tbsp.

  4. Allspice peas – 1 tbsp. l.

  5. Dried orange peel – 1 long strip

  6. Port wine – 0,75 liters

Method of preparation

  1. Cut figs into large pieces, put in a jar.

  2. Pour spices and orange peel, pour solid ingredients with alcohol.

  3. Leave to infuse for a period of 1 to 3 months in cool and dark (try the liquor during this period, when you like the taste, it’s time to filter).

  4. Filter before use.

caramel fig liqueur

One of the most delicious and easy-to-make fig drinks.

Ingredients

  1. Fresh figs – 5 pcs.

  2. Sugar – 2 st. l.

  3. Starch – 1 tsp

  4. Water – 3 tbsp. l.

  5. Vanilla – 1 pod

  6. Dry white wine – 0,5 l

Method of preparation

  1. Rinse the fig fruits, cut into small pieces, put in a glass vessel.

  2. Heat the pan, pour sugar on it, fry until soft brown (make caramel).

  3. Add vanilla to the caramel, add wine in small portions and leave to boil over low heat until the mixture is partially reduced, stirring regularly.

  4. Dissolve starch in water, pour into the pan.

  5. After boiling the mixture again, add it to the vessel with figs.

  6. Cover the container with a lid, wait for the liquid to cool, strain through a sieve.

  7. Drain the drink into a bottle, keep in the cold.
