Italians traditionally serve pasta with various sauces. One of these dishes is shrimp fettuccine. The combination of seafood with a creamy sauce gives a special piquant taste to the pasta, which is great for dinner.

Fettuccine pasta: ingredients

Shrimp pasta in a creamy sauce can be made from boiled or raw shrimp. Naturally, it is preferable to use raw shrimp. But in extreme cases, boiled seafood is also perfect.

So, to prepare a dish for 4-6 servings, you will need:

  • 1 pack of pasta
  • 0,5 kg tiger prawns
  • 3-5 cloves of garlic
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp dried marjoram
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • ¼ glasses of white wine
  • 2 cups cream, 22% fat
  • grated parmesan cheese for sprinkling
  • parsley
  • ½ tsp hot red pepper powder
  • ground black pepper and cayenne pepper to taste

How to make fettuccine: recipe

Defrost the shrimps at room temperature for 3 hours in advance, peel them of shells and entrails. Then rinse with running water, sprinkle with lemon juice and salt a little.

Cook the pasta in a saucepan according to the instructions on the package. After the pasta is ready, drain the water in which it was cooked, but leave a little in a separate cup (in case you get a thick sauce). Pour some olive oil into a preheated wide frying pan and add garlic, chopped in a garlic press or finely chopped.

Saute the garlic over medium heat for 1-2 minutes. Then add wine to the pan and continue the process for another 1 minute. Then add heavy cream. Then season with pepper, salt, add cayenne pepper, thyme and marjoram. The rich taste of the sauce will add aromas of spices, herbs and garlic. Simmer for 3-5 minutes over low heat. The sauce should thicken.

You can also use low-fat cream, but this will make a thin sauce. To thicken this sauce, dilute 2 tablespoons in water. flour and add to cream

Add shrimps to the prepared sauce. The degree of readiness of raw shrimp is indicated by their pink color. The shrimp fettuccine is ready.

If the shrimp are raw, cook them for 4-5 minutes. If you are using already boiled shrimp, it is enough to simmer them for 2 minutes. Be careful not to extend the cooking time of the shrimp. Otherwise, they will become rubbery and tough.

Place the pasta beautifully on a plate, top with the shrimp sauce, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and finely chopped parsley.

Please note that the cooking times for the sauce are approximate, because it all depends on the quality of the dishes in which the dish will be cooked, as well as on the size of the shrimp.
