Do you use Ferroli gas equipment? Then our article will come in handy. Here are considered all possible malfunctions and errors in the operation of the Ferroli boiler. Whatever problem arises – the equipment does not turn on, the pressure drops, there is no hot water – the recommendations in the table will help you find a way out.
The device and features of Ferroli boilers
Ferroli brand gas boilers can be installed in any home, even if the mains are not connected. The equipment is connected to a common pipeline or a separate cylinder with liquefied gas.
Flame modulation allows even heating of the heat exchanger. It is made of copper, so the efficiency is 92%. Anti-corrosion coating extends the life of the device. The ignition block is also covered with aluminium.
Among users, the most popular double-circuit models “Domina”, “Diva”, “Domiproject”, “Pegasus”.
Error codes and malfunctions
Errors can be displayed on the boiler display or on the control panel. Codes fall into several categories:
- Critical – “A”. When they occur, the system is completely blocked, the equipment does not start. To eliminate it, it is necessary to exclude the cause of the appearance of symbols on the screen, restart using the “Reset” key. The reboot will not happen immediately, but after 30 seconds after pressing the button;
- Non-critical – “F”. Minor issues that require user intervention and system tweaks;
- Pauses – “D”. These symbols indicate the intervals between certain modes.
Malfunction code | Value | Solutions |
A01 (In the Domina models, the red indicator flashes). | The burner is not working. No ignition. |
|
A02 (The green indicator lights up when trying to ignite. In other cases, it flashes). | The system reports the presence of a flame in its actual absence. |
|
A3 (Red light blinking). | The overheating protection has tripped. Temperature from 105 degrees. The technology is turned off. | An error appears if the temperature has not returned to normal within 10-50 seconds. Restart the boiler, let it cool down. If after that the device does not turn on, then you need:
|
A06 | Unstable flame. In 10 minutes the fire went out 6 times. |
|
A09 | Faulty gas supply valve. | Repair or replacement. |
A16 | When closed, the valve allows fuel to pass through.
A21 | Combustion problems. | Reboot the system. |
A34 | Voltage fluctuations in the network. | Stabilizer installation. |
A41 | No temperature rise. | Connecting a working coolant temperature sensor. Measure the resistance of the semiconductor sensor with a multimeter. In working condition, it will show 10 kOhm at 25 ° C. Pull the sensor connectors to the control board. Do the same with the hot water temperature sensor (DHW). |
A51 | Clogged chimney, air duct. | Check for traction. Bring a lit match to the control window. In the presence of thrust, the flame will deviate to the side. If it burns steadily, it is necessary to clean the chimney. |
F04 (green indicator flashes). | The smoke controller has tripped. | How to turn on the boiler? Restart. Clean out the chimney. Cleaning contacts or replacing the sensor. Reconfiguration of the electronic module. |
F05 | Fan connected incorrectly (for Ferroli Domiproject DF). | Inspection of fan wiring, voltage measurement. The norm is 220V. Contact tightening. |
F08 | The temperature of the heat exchanger exceeds 99 degrees. In this case, the device is functioning. | As soon as the temperature is restored to 90 degrees, the code will disappear. |
F10 / F14 | Shorted or open circuit in the heating medium thermistor wiring. | Wiring repair or replacement of a defective element. |
F11 | The DHW thermistor has closed, the contacts are broken. The burner does not ignite in DHW mode.
F20 | Flame problems (for Domiproject DF). | Diagnostics is carried out:
|
F34 | The voltage is not correct (less than 180V). | Wait until the network is restored, or use a stabilizer. |
F35 | Current mismatch between the control board and the network. | Consider the correct setting when replacing the board (50-60Hz). |
F37 (blinking yellow light). | Decreased pressure in the system. | Make sure the boiler is not leaking. Check the tightness of the connections. Replace heating relay. |
F39 | The outdoor thermometer has shorted out. Thermistor failure. | Tighten the contacts, isolate the damaged wiring. Install a new thermometer. |
F40 | The pressure in the system is too high. | Take out the filter of the relief valve, wash it from clogging. If the valve is defective, the equipment cannot be operated. Replacement is underway. Make sure the expansion tank is doing its job. |
F42 | The overheat and temperature sensor display different data. | Measure the resistance of the DHW thermistor. Normal readings should be 10 kOhm. Insert a new element. |
F43 | The heat exchanger safety system has tripped. | Diagnosis of the operation of the circulation pump. Remove excess air from the system. |
F50 | Problems with gas fittings. |
|
fh | Air is removed by the circulation pump. After three minutes, the code will disappear. |
There are others problems that are not indicated by codes and not described in the instructions:
- Small flame in the burner. Adjusting the pressure on the burner, it is necessary to clean the nozzles from dust and dirt;
- The burner starts randomly. The nozzle needs to be cleaned, a broken thermocouple is being replaced. The fuel valve coil is checked for an open;
- Hot water does not heat up. Reduced line pressure. It is necessary to adjust the power, clean the heat exchanger from scale;
- The flame flares up. Cleaning the combustion chamber, burner. Traction check.
Most errors block the operation of the boiler. Even if after a restart it functions again, you should not let the problem take its course. It is necessary to find out the reasons for its occurrence and contact the master or resolve the issue yourself. Regular maintenance prevents malfunctions, prevents contamination of equipment parts.
