Fenistil gel is a drug used on the skin, in the case of itching accompanying, among others: bites, sunburn or urticaria. The active substance of the gel is dimetindene maleate, which, by acting in opposition to kinins, reduces the symptoms of allergy. Fenistil has anti-edema, anti-itching, antiallergic and local anesthetic effects.

FENISTIL GEL – action

Fenistil gel, thanks to the content of dimetindene maleate, helps to reduce unpleasant symptoms of skin allergies. The active substance of the preparation, in combination with H2 receptor antagonists, inhibits the effect of histamine on the circulatory system.

Fenistil gel is indicated for people who struggle with:

  1. dermatoses (pruritus),
  2. hives
  3. insect bites,
  4. sunburn,
  5. first degree skin burns.

Dosage of Fenstil Gel

Fenistil Gel should be applied externally and topically. Apply a thin layer on the affected and itchy skin 2 to 4 times a day. The gel starts working a few minutes after you apply it. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose of the preparation, as it may harm your life or health. When using the drug on large surfaces, it is recommended to avoid UVA / UVB radiation. Avoid using the gel for second and third degree burns.

There are many contraindications to the use of Fenistil Gel, it should not be used:

  1. being allergic to any ingredient of the drug,
  2. in the first trimester of pregnancy,
  3. on extensive skin surfaces, during the rest of pregnancy and breastfeeding,
  4. in the case of wounds and skin inflammations,
  5. on nipples during breastfeeding.

Warnings about Fenistil Gel:

  1. it should not be used in children, on large areas of the skin,
  2. avoid using the gel in the case of XNUMXnd and XNUMXrd degree wounds and burns, as well as skin inflammations,
  3. women in the second or third trimester of pregnancy and during breastfeeding should consult a doctor before taking the drug,
  4. the drug should not be used in the first trimester of pregnancy.

There are no data on the interaction of Fenistil Gel with other preparations. However, it is recommended that you inform your doctor about all recently taken medications.
