Feijoa Pouring: 3 Recipes at Home

The inconspicuous-looking green shriveled feijoa fruit does not attract much attention at the first meeting. But those who have had a chance to try an exotic berry note its unusual taste, combining notes of strawberry, pineapple and kiwi.

A very interesting bouquet for home winemakers. The only “minus” is an inexpressive aroma, but for real gourmets this is not a hindrance at all: it is enough to choose a good accompaniment for it.

Feijoa liqueur “Classic”

With an increase in the exposure time, the taste of the drink improves. Best served chilled.

Ingredients

  1. Feijoa – 30 pcs.

  2. Water – 4 glasses

  3. Vodka – 1 liter

  4. Sugar – 1 glass

Method of preparation

  1. Peel the berries, cut into cubes.

  2. Boil water, dissolve sugar in it.

  3. Throw the berry mass into the boiling liquid, simmer for 15-20 minutes over low heat.

  4. Pour the resulting broth into jars, filling no more than half the volume.

  5. Wait for cooling, top up the vessels with vodka to the top, seal with lids.

  6. Let the drink brew for at least 1 month, shaking the contents every couple of days.

Feijoa liqueur on alcohol

Ingredients

  1. Feijoa – 0,5 kg

  2. Sugars – 150 g

  3. Alcohol – 0,5 l

  4. Water – 0,2-0,3 l

Method of preparation

  1. Cut the fruit without removing the skin.

  2. Pour the berry mass with sugar, pour alcohol.

  3. Let the drink brew for 2 weeks.

  4. Strain the infusion, squeeze the berry pulp.

  5. Pass the drink through the filter and dilute with water to the desired strength.

Feijoa dip with strawberries

Instead of sugar, you can sweeten the drink with buckwheat or linden honey, which will give the taste softness and aroma of herbs, and strawberries can be replaced with strawberries.

Ingredients

  1. Feijoa – 0,3 kg

  2. Vodka – ½ l

  3. Strawberries – 0,1-0,2 kg

  4. Sugar – 80-150 g

  5. Water – 30-100 ml

Method of preparation

  1. Finely chop the feijoa, crush the strawberries.

  2. Combine both masses, pour in vodka, add half the sugar.

  3. Leave the mixture to infuse for 2 weeks.

  4. Strain the infusion, pass through the filter.

  5. Add sugar to the drink and dilute with water to the desired degree of strength and sweetness.
