😉 Hello travel lovers! Friends, there are many interesting countries on the planet. For example, the exotic country Thailand. We will go there, but the tourist needs to know some of the features of rest in Thailand.
I want to say right away that it is correct to write Thailand, not Thailand. The people began to correct themselves, most of them write correctly. In May 2019, over 19 thousand people wrote the word “Thailand” in search engines, and the word “Thailand” – 13 thousand.
Holidays in Thailand
For those who like to have a rest actively and with sufficient time, the voucher is a very good option for resting on the islands.
Excursions in Thailand
Upon arrival in Phuket, you will be presented with a fairly large selection of excursions. An interesting excursion-trip to the Similan Islands, though there is a nuance: the islands are open to the public only from December to April (inclusive).
There are vouchers for 1-2 days. It takes about 3 hours to get there. Overnight in a tent, for lovers of comfort a bungalow is provided (but you need to order in advance). Lunch is also included in the price of the voucher.
Are you in a period when the Similan Islands are closed? There are quite alternative options for excursions to James Bond Island (floating village, sea pirates). You will be taken with a breeze in a canoe through the winding labyrinths of numerous caves.
Krabi
Krabi – (one of the 77 provinces of Thailand) – there are unique hot springs, a gorgeous national park. And of course, how can you visit Thailand and not ride an elephant! In short, there will be a feeling that you are in some other, paradise world.
Phiphi
Phi Phi – islands off the coast of Thailand, between the mainland and Phuket (great diving, just an unforgettable atmosphere in the Viking cave).
All these activities will take two days. You will spend the night in a decent hotel. Lunch and dinner included. You can rent a “motorboat” and arrange for yourself a unique, simply “awesome” sea adventure with a stop at the islets.
Don’t forget about Monkey Island, a very fun adventure. Tip: do not flirt especially with primates and do not forget to feed.
Excursions at street travel agencies will cost you 1,5-2 times cheaper than a tour guide at a hotel.
Food
- there can be no unambiguous options. Let’s focus on the average Russian tourist. Of course, Thailand is replete with catering establishments, but there are nuances in the choice;
- choose a local institution, not a foreign one (including a Russian one). Pay attention to its attendance, even if you have to stand in line a little (for street establishments), this is, on the contrary, a good sign;
- in closed cafes and restaurants, the quality of food is the same, but you will have to pay extra for service and comfort. Taking into account the fact that each order is purely individual (prepared for one time), and it is carried out taking into account your wishes. Tip: ask not to put peppers in the dish, if you are not a spicy lover;
- do not worry, the dish will be spicy, but as they say “without fanaticism.”
Money
A little about money.
- Make currency exchange only at bank exchange offices. In Thailand, you will come across such a “joke”. The smaller the denomination you order, the lower their rate.
- But you also need to have a “small change”, for example, in a taxi they do not give change, so it is advisable to pay “on account”.
Local population
- do not enter into conflicts with the local population;
- women in Thailand are affable and benevolent, but be more careful with men. They can deliberately provoke a situation. Of course, if you yourself give a reason for this;
- it will all end up calling the local police. And they always stand on the side of the local population. And if you do not want bureaucratic “troubles”, then you yourself will gladly part with a few bills;
- for insulting the king, you can get 15 years in prison, whether you are a tourist or a local resident.
Apparel
In general, there are no problems with clothes. The only thing is, if you are going to visit “holy places”, the clothes should not look provocative. For women, legs and shoulders should be covered.
Theft
Thailand is called “the land of smiles”, but don’t forget about security measures. Do not leave your valuables unattended, do not hang yourself in gold, which can be ripped off by local bikers passing by.
These are the main features of a holiday in Thailand.
Travel Tips
The sun in Thailand is very “hard”, burn out instantly! Remember to use sunscreen.
They speak Thai in Thailand. Find a Russian-Thai phrasebook (basic words and phrases) on the Internet, and print it out – it will be very useful on a trip. For novice tourists, the article “Tips: Savings in Travel” will be useful.
