Fear of loneliness — words and experiences that hide a variety of fears.
The first typical fear is the fear of insecurity, the fear of future problems, when everything will pile up and I will not cope. «I’m small, but the world is big and scary.» See Self-sufficiency and fear of loneliness.
The second typical fear is the fear of remaining useless, unclaimed, in the face of the meaninglessness of one’s life. “Maybe I’m big, but no one wants that. Lived a life — badly … »
“You see, my wife and I plowed all our lives. Settled life. Now for the first time I have free time. The other day I go home, and it’s empty. The whole family has left. I got so scared. Self-sufficiency and fear of loneliness
Self-sufficiency is not for everyone. Self-sufficiency is the theme of young people and girls, the theme of youth, when you finally want to live your own life, stop obeying your parents and other adults, live separately and independently. But there is already a premonition that you have to pay for this — with responsibility for yourself and your life, with the readiness to solve all your life problems yourself. If you are scared, you can call it the fear of being alone.
The roots of interest in self-sufficiency are in the fear of loneliness, when you cannot do without others, when it is scary to imagine yourself without others. A self-sufficient person is a person who has successfully solved the problem of loneliness. However, the fear of loneliness is not familiar to everyone. If a young man or girl from an early age lived in the author’s position and with a positive attitude, they did not suffer from any fears, especially the fear of loneliness, and in the process of life they calmly learn independence. And they become independent, not at all interested in self-sufficiency.
