Lack of calcium doesn’t always instantly affect your nails or bones. Signs of a lack of this substance can be confused with the symptoms of many conditions and diseases, but the complex of these signs can tell you that the threat of calcium deficiency is on the doorstep.
1. Brittle nails and hair
The density of all bone tissue, muscles, teeth, nails and hair depends on calcium. Nails exfoliate, become transparent and faded, hair splits, falls out, becomes thinner – calcium-containing foods or vitamins should be used.
2. Dark teeth
With a lack of calcium, teeth become brittle and begin to crumble. Before such an obvious sign appears, you can track the condition of the teeth in advance – the tooth enamel is destroyed earlier. This will be indicated by the color of the teeth – shine and whiteness are lost, the teeth seem dark and are covered with plaque much faster.
3. Rapid fatigue
Fatigue, bad mood, indifference, apathy, excruciating insomnia – all this also suggests that calcium is flushed out of the body too quickly or is not enough supplied into it. Calcium gives us a feeling of cheerfulness during the day, as it helps to accumulate serotonin – the hormone of joy and tone.
4. Unstable pressure
Calcium, along with other nutrients, regulates blood pressure, and a lack of it leads to hypotension. But with any stress factor with a lack of calcium, the pressure rises sharply – much higher than the permissible norms. Hence, feeling unwell, dizziness or tinnitus. Sudden pressure surges are not beneficial for the body and require immediate treatment.
5. Involuntary muscle spasms
Simply put, these are cramps, numbness of the limbs, unexpected muscle contractions, tingling sensations – all this may indicate a lack of calcium in the body. Muscle tone weakens, hence uncontrolled contractions or, on the contrary, lethargy.
6. Loose skin
Even with regular exercise and constant cosmetic procedures, your skin does not tone up – it may well turn out that this is a sign of a lack of calcium. Lack of muscle tone does not contribute to skin tightening, which means it’s time to take action!
