Fasting – beware or prepare well for it?
Fasting - beware or prepare well for it?Fasting – beware or prepare well for it?

We inherited from our parents a deep need to know that we can eat whatever we want without having to wait in lines for several days. The refrigerator should be full of nicely packaged, various products. Unfortunately, they are usually highly processed, and the city air is full of pollutants that accumulate in the body.

As a consolation, it should be added that each subsequent fasting, our body passes much easier. We can successfully use a 3-5 day cleansing once a quarter. If fasting for a few days scares us, we can opt for a 36-hour fast, which includes two nights. The challenge will seem much easier to complete. Successfully completed will encourage us to take a longer attempt. However, we should not go beyond the period of 10 days. Poorly prepared fasting will negatively affect our well-being.

The benefits of a cleansing fast

  • Mental capacity increases and mental functions run more efficiently, thanks to which we feel better.
  • We regain vitality and feel light.
  • As the level of white blood cells increases, resistance to all kinds of infections increases.
  • It combats hypertension and atherosclerosis, rheumatic diseases, allergies and inflammations – of the pancreas, stomach, gall bladder.
  • It cleanses the body of toxins responsible for bags under the eyes and headaches.

Preparation time

Fasting should be carried out under the supervision of a physician. In order to minimize the symptoms that usually occur in the first days, m.in. nausea, weakness and headache, it is worth changing your eating habits two weeks earlier. The unpleasantness that we feel then is primarily related to the movement and then excretion of accumulated toxic waste from the body.

In the preparatory period, eliminate or at least significantly reduce the consumption of meat and white bread. Do not reach for sugar or sweets, carbonated drinks and alcohol, replace them with mineral water and herbal teas. Most of the menu should consist of coarse groats, fruits and vegetables, also in the form of salads. For 14 consecutive days, start the day with warm water. It’s best if you consume a tablespoon of olive oil mixed with a tablespoon of linseed after a few minutes.

Two days earlier, limit food to raw vegetables and fruits, and the day before you can do an enema.

Set, Go!

During the cleansing fast, drink boiled, still warm, low-mineralized water, allow yourself to sleep longer, and make sure to always have extra clothes on hand, because it may be a bit cooler than usual. Let’s stimulate the secretion of toxins through the skin by brushing the body in the shower or without using water. We should remove the white coating from the tongue, use short baths and stretching exercises. A walk is also suitable.

The transition phase must be the same number of days as the fasting phase because it perpetuates the effort. On the first day, consume up to 6 glasses of 1:1 juice mixed with warm water. During the next two days, millet gruel, fruit and vegetables will be allowed – except for beans, peas, corn and potatoes. We shouldn’t salt.

Fasting is prohibited for children. It should be limited to 3 days for the elderly and those weighing less than 50 kg. Apart from children, a one-day fast is safe for everyone. Our organs “do not lose weight” during a multi-day fast. We must not forget about hydration of the body.
