The international exhibition Euroluce 2009, held in Milan, brought together the brightest ideas from all over the world under one roof. Objects that did not remain in the shade were included in the ELLE Decor review.
Lamps and chandeliers
- Venetian glass chandeliers (aka Murano) never go out of style. Only the models change. This year’s hit is graceful Elysée, design Marina Toscano for Gallery Vetri d’Arte… Each “icicle” pendant is hand-made.

- These ripe cherries (lamps Cherry, Alt Lucialternative) no bones. Designer Alessandro Crozera preferred them fluorescent lamps, which he placed inside plexiglass hemispheres.
- Ceiling light collection InSideOut with unusual lampshades in the form of ribbons streaming in the wind, Casamania by Frezza, was released in 2008. Its creator is a Danish architect and designer Brian Rasmussen – decided to develop the theme and supplemented the line with table lamps and floor lamps.
- XXL is still in vogue! Lamp Greta, Ares Lightingwhich resembles a tabletop, in fact – a garden lamp as tall as a street lamp. Its concrete base, aluminum lampshade and stainless steel frame are not afraid of the vagaries of the weather.
- Holland cheese “with holes” from Italian designers Vincenzo Antonuccio и Marilena Calbini – nothing more than a table lamp Nuccio (company VGNewTrend). Although it is inedible, it emits a pleasant diffused light.
- Specially shaped glass diffuser Clio, design Paolo de Lucchi for Aureliano Toso, emits rays that effectively diverge in different directions. If you fix several such lamps on one wall at once, the “drawing” will turn out to be even more interesting.
- Zoe from La Murrina – handmade Murano glass chandelier designed by the designer Sandro Santantonio… Each product bears the personal signature of the author – this is a guarantee of authenticity.
- Swedish designer Markus Ervonen prefers wild flowers to all flowers. His dandelion Mascors from the collection IKEA PS will give you the feeling of summer all year round.
- The most interesting thing about the lamp PSH, Selva – figured metal base. Passing through it, light creates bizarre patterns on the surface of the table.

- This “scarlet flower” entered the collection of the famous designer Jacques Garcia Les Botanics for the brand Zonca… A flower bed of flowers unknown to science at the brand’s stand was one of the brightest impressions of Euroluce 2009.
- Lamp Cindy in the spirit of the 70s with a teardrop-shaped base – a designer’s project Ferruccio Laviani for the brand Kartell… There are countless color options: from noble platinum to extravagant fuchsia.

- Bookcase-floor lamp Annette developed by the company’s designers Casamania… The lampshade rests on a transparent plexiglass support, which makes it feel like it is floating in the air.
- “I wanted to make a chandelier in the shape of a flying saucer,” admits the designer Valerio Cometti, the author of the lamp Icon, I Tre… Well, it turned out similar. And the black color allows this “alien” to organically fit not only into the futuristic interior.
- The botanical theme, loudly announced at the Euroluce 2009 exhibition, is continued by the factory’s lamp The Original… Such a “bouquet” can be used to decorate both the wall and the ceiling.
- Architect and designer Massimo Yosa Gini told that he came up with a lamp Sasso, Murano Duesitting on the banks of a seething mountain river. The shape of the chandelier’s shades is the same as the stones cut with water.

- The Radius floor lamp by Fendi Casa with a graceful split leg is an absolute hit at Euroluce 2009. The black lacquer finish is still in vogue.
- Designer Mark Sadler is known for his experiments with modern materials. The colored lampshades of his new Tress lamps, Foscarini, are made of rubberized bands and feel like a rough wicker basket.
- Lovers of fine handmade will appreciate this model from the Italian factory Mechini. The 12 shades of the chandelier are made of Murano glass and the curved metal frame is decorated with Bohemian crystal.
- The Graphic floor lamp with photos of mysterious retro appliances on the lampshade is a joint brainchild of the Diesel fashion brand and the Foscarini company. An interesting detail is a chain switch with a metal handle in the shape of a lightning bolt.
- This desk lamp, Calligaris, was nicknamed by critics the “first aid kit.” Indeed, the similarities are obvious. However, the designer Marco Baxadonne calls the lamp Carina (“Sweetheart”) and ardently denies any connection with the Red Cross.
- Genesy floor lamp is a project of architect Zaha Hadid for the Artemide brand. “Futuristic tree” (as Hadid called her brainchild) is cast from plastic, but wear-resistant polyurethane foam, so the floor lamp can be placed not only in the house, but also on the street.
- Designers from Kundalini have improved on last year’s hit, the Abyss light garland, by adding plexiglass balls and hemispheres. Now this decoration can not only be beautifully laid out on the floor, but also hung from the ceiling.
