Fashion makeup: trends of the fall-winter 2013/14 season

Fashion makeup: trends of the fall-winter 2013/14 season

The fashionable makeup of the coming season is determined by the best makeup artists on the best catwalks in the world. Woman’s Day, having studied the shows at the Fall-Winter 2013/14 Fashion Weeks, found out what beauty tricks will be popular this fall.

Emporio Armani show, fall-winter 2013/14

Fashionable makeup for the fall-winter 2013/14 season involves an emphasis on the lips. Makeup artists offer a variety of dark lipstick shades with matte or glossy textures: burgundy (like on the Antonio Berardi show, Byblos Rachel Zoe), brown (like on the Phillip Lim show), wine (Derek Lam and Emporio Armani shows), fuchsia (Byblos and Paul Smith) and even purple (example – show Massimo Rebecchi). But the models from the MiuMiu show deserved special attention: make-up artists used the technique of degradation on the lips. To do this, experts applied lipstick, and then a pencil one or two shades darker than it. According to Katerina Ponomareva, the leading MAC makeup artist in Russia and the CIS, dark lipstick is especially well combined with fair skin and pink blush.

La Perla show, fall-winter 2013/14

Smokyeyes is the perennial leader in the fashion makeup category. The smoky method of applying shadows has been used by makeup artists at Fashion Weeks as often as dark lipstick. At the same time, unlike last season, in autumn and winter 2013/14, preference should be given to the classic version of smoky eyes: dark gray and black tones (see the shows of La Perla, John Richmond, Marc Jacobs, Roberto Cavalli). This makeup will be a great option for an evening look. But it is important to remember: if you apply bright shadows on the eyelids, then choose neutral shades for the lips.

Cividini show, fall-winter 2013/14

The fall-winter 2013/14 nude makeup was dominated by gold, beige, peach and pink shades. For example, at the shows of Cividini, Trussardi, Blumarine, make-up artists used beige shadows, lipstick of the same shade and pink blush; at the show Carolina Herrera, Narciso Rodriguez, Tommy Hilfiger, Etro – peach shadows and blush and pink lip gloss. Natural make-up does not require noticeable accents: mascara in both versions can be used as desired.

Alberta Ferretti show, fall-winter 2013/14

Another option for this season’s trendy nude makeup is an even complexion, peach blush and a glow on the cheekbones. The best examples of such an image presented at Fashion Weeks are the shows of Alberta Ferretti, Alexandre Vauthier, Giambattista Valli, Marchesa, Richard Nicoll. In order to “highlight” the skin, make-up artists are advised to adopt a highlighter. And another good way: on top of the foundation, apply a moisturizer of a dense texture to the cheekbones.

Burberry Show Fall / Winter 2013/14

Tanned skin has not been popular for a long time: for a long time, makeup artists at Fashion Weeks preferred pallor. But this season, everything has changed: models with dark skin were found at almost every fall-winter 2013/14 show! Burberry shows, Carmen Marc Valvo, Christian Dior, Emilio De La Morena, Etro, Lorenzo Riva, Donna Karan New York are just a few of the list. However, experts warn: in the pursuit of fashion, you need to maintain individuality, and this trend should be taken into account only by naturally dark-skinned girls. And, by the way, to get a tan, you don’t have to spend hours on the seaside or, even worse, regularly go to the solarium; it is better to use a bronzer. And if you just returned from vacation, consider yourself in luck: apply bronzing powder on the protruding parts of the face, on the eyelids – beige shadows, on the lips – pink gloss or lipstick. And one more thing: for our country, this trend is likely to be relevant only at the beginning of autumn, in winter tan looks ridiculous.

Pink and blue shades of eyeshadow

Gucci show, fall-winter 2013/14

Pale pink or blue eyeshadows are another interesting fall-winter 2013/14 makeup trend. “A lot of girls avoid these shades in their makeup,” says Jenna Menard, leading international makeup artist at Clinique. – But in vain. These colors are perfect for creating a romantic daytime look. ” Jenna advises applying shadows of these shades to the upper and lower eyelids (see examples on the show Gucci, Unique, Mila Schon), while it is better to use creamy textures instead of crumbly ones. You can also use pink and blue shades at the same time: apply the first to the movable eyelid, and the second to the lower eyelash contour (a good example is the MaxMara show). Finish with black mascara and some pink or peach blush on the cheekbones. For lips, choose a transparent balm or a natural lipstick tone (remember the main rule of the season – one makeup accent!).

Sass & bide show, fall-winter 2013/14

Pink blush was popular last season, but this one is no exception. However, this is not surprising; Nothing refreshes an image like a natural blush. At Fall / Winter 2013/14 Fashion Weeks, makeup artists successfully combined blush with wide eyebrows and pink lipstick. The best examples of this makeup trend can be seen at the shows of Chanel, Lela Rose, sass & bide, Valentino.

Zoe Jordan Show Fall / Winter 2013/14

Arrows are another trend that repeats at Fashion Week from season to season. But if colored arrows were popular in the summer, then this fall and winter, makeup artists are advised to give preference to the classics and use black eyeliner. But the options for shooters this season are huge. For example, at the shows of Emilio Pucci and Zoe Jordan, the models had the upper eyelash contour, at the Mara Hoffman show – only the lower one, and at Joie is both top and bottom.
