How were you dressed during your pregnancy?
At the time, Liberty was very trendy, so I wore loose cotton dresses with a pretty floral print. You should know that there was not a lot of specialized fashion for pregnant women and the specific outfits were rather sad. It felt like we were in disguise and couldn’t keep our style during pregnancy. I was lucky enough to be able to create my own dresses in a charming naive style and I associated them especially with clogs.
What are the best clothes and what to avoid?
Today, we no longer hide our pregnancy, on the contrary. It is true that pregnant we have a beautiful breast. It should therefore be highlighted by wearing necklines. Why not wear tight jersey pants accompanied by fine knit shirts or sweaters? Fluid materials are also to be preferred. I think, on the other hand, that it is better to avoid bright colors and favor soft or dark colors. I also don’t like when the belly is fully molded and it’s accentuated by a low waistband; magnitude is better!
In your collections, can certain items of clothing be worn by pregnant women?
Yes, there are also several. For winter, I have a gray wool sweater dress that can be worn with leggings. I also have long cardigans and a loose gray top with sequins, very feminine, which will look great on pregnant women.
A final fashion tip for a pregnant woman?
Don’t go through this time thinking that you are not pretty. The women are beautiful, radiant, have a beautiful breast, a beautiful complexion. We must therefore play to its strengths and highlight them.

I experienced my pregnancies as real times of fulfillment. Unlike the rest of the time, we proudly wear our curves, and our little “beads” are uninhibited, even proud! Also, I who often wear black and am rather jeans, I took a lot of pleasure in wearing light dresses with chunky colored stitches.

During pregnancy, focus on comfort and cocooning; no need to persist in wanting to wear “unsuitable” clothes in which you feel stuck.
In my opinion, a fashion faux pas would be to swap your tight little tank tops for oversized sweaters.

We see that many pregnant women come to Les Petites to buy dresses. In addition, with the return of the fitted dress, they have the opportunity to dress in houses other than “specialized”. We have a fitted dress with 3/4 sleeves with tie, one in chestnut-colored silk with butterfly sleeves and another with large navy and black flowers that future mothers can wear.
Cashmere cardigans are also very popular with them: wrap-over or shawl style, they bring a touch of color and a cozy side to their daily life. The mesh poncho is also ideal. And for fans of rock’n’roll style, we have a long white shirt to wear with leggings.

How were you dressed during your pregnancy?
After having toured the shops for pregnant women, I decided to do my own fashion, without changing my identity or my way of dressing. I didn’t want to feel like a rare beast, a woman in post-teenage crisis who scares her husband off running! After trying on lingerie for pregnant women – and having lived a great moment of solitude in the dressing room of a department store – I told myself that I was going to give myself a nice gift. I bought some super sexy lingerie, obviously two sizes larger, from Agent Provocateur and Chantal Thomass. I also fell in love with sexy dresses and pretty necklines that highlight the chest. Finally, I have worn empire shapes a lot.

Many Antik Batik clothes can be worn by pregnant women, this is the right balance between sexy necklines and loose shapes. The “blouse dress”, emblematic of Antik Batik, and the “top baby doll” to wear over low-waisted pants allow pregnant women to remain feminine and attractive with their big belly. Likewise, all mesh dresses combine comfort and sex appeal!
