PSYchology

According to children, today the “main” in the family is the parents (mother or father), since they make decisions. Parents, on the other hand, believe that the main thing in the family is children, since the family serves their interests. And at the same time, both parents and children say that the situation does not suit them. Why?

There should not be a single leader in a family! Each member of the family is the main one in the area of uXNUMXbuXNUMXbits authority, which must be agreed upon among themselves. In order to correctly distribute the zones of authority, we propose that the most important decisions concerning the whole family be submitted to the family council.

The family council is necessary for making decisions concerning the whole family, for planning joint activities of adults and children, resolving conflict situations that are not resolved naturally, and preventing conflicts.

And in the event of emergencies, the right to make decisions and responsibility is assumed by the so-called «emergency leader» — the one who is best able to cope with the situation.

Emergencies include fire, sudden serious illness/injury of a family member, armed attack, robbery, natural disaster, an unusual situation at the exit, a decision that the family council cannot make.

The family council is necessary for making decisions concerning the whole family, for planning joint activities of adults and children, resolving conflict situations that are not resolved naturally, and preventing conflicts. Together, adults and children have developed a sequence of actions, as a result of which the family council works effectively. The fundamental principle of the work of the family council is to make decisions with the full consent of all family members, taking into account the need to make mutual compromises.

Both adults and children noted the need and importance of joint activities of parents and children as a key way to create a family team, develop partnerships, transfer knowledge and skills from parents to children. As our games show, the most common types of joint activities are:

  • forced joint activities (cleanliness in the house, assistance to elderly relatives);
  • entertainment (outdoor recreation, hiking, sports competitions, cultural events);
  • help — communication, reflection, support, analysis of the situation, understanding of problems and a way to solve them.
