Women whose husbands are actively involved in running the household are almost three times more satisfied with their marriage and feel much happier than those whose husbands do not help. These are the conclusions of the first study in the Middle East on the psychosocial health of women, conducted by psychologists at the University of Beirut (Lebanon).

“The results show that in any culture the family is a joint project of a man and a woman, and the need for an equal partnership is also universal,” comments psychotherapist Alexandra Suchkova. — In addition, in families that live according to centuries-old traditions, spouses do not compete with each other in who is more important, because their powers are determined from the very beginning. In contrast to European countries, where the attitude towards tradition is conditional and therefore competition often arises between partners.
