Eyelashes are one of the signs of femininity. Which of us would not like to have curtain-length, thick and flirtatious eyelashes to be able to dazzle with a look. For this purpose, we use eye-enhancing mascaras, various types of conditioners, we decide on professional treatments in beauty salons. It happens, however, that despite everything, our eyelashes suddenly lose their good condition and start falling out unexpectedly, giving us sleepless nights.
There can be many reasons for this state of affairs. Here are the most common of them:
- wrong diet — with a small amount of vitamins, micro- and macroelements, which weakens the hair follicle
- harmful effects of external factors – such as sun or frost. Too high or low temperature is not good for eyelashes
- living under chronic stress
- weakness of the body – caused by inflammation or infection
- hormonal disorders – dysregulated hormonal balance or, for example, thyroid diseases
- taking certain medications
- destruction of the body after chemotherapy
- or finally improper care and cosmetic procedures – selection of poor quality cosmetics, incompetent make-up removal or too frequent and improper use of an eyelash curler.
So how should you take care of your eyelashes so as not to risk losing them? Learn some basic rules of their care:
- Use only proven cosmetics – pay attention to the composition of mascaras and eyelash serums and your reaction to them. Some of them can sensitize and irritate, and this forces you to rub your eyes and, consequently, weakens eyelashes. Also, not everything that is good for others will be good for you. Even if a product has only positive reviews, it may turn out that it just doesn’t work for you.
- Never go to bed with makeup on – even if it seems to you that you are falling off your feet and this one, only time you can let go, don’t do it. Mascara left overnight damages eyelashes and causes them to break, and additionally blocks hair follicle openings and irritates the eyes.
- Remove your make-up wisely – apply the washing preparation and wait for a while. Give it time to work and then remove the makeup very gently using a cotton pad. The technique itself is important here. Do not rub the eyelashes, but only lightly press the cotton pad against the eyelid.
- Give up eyelash curlers and too frequent treatments of artificial eyelash extensions – the eyelash curler, due to the pressure exerted on the eyelashes, makes them brittle and brittle, while cosmetic extensions weaken the natural eyelashes and if it is done too often, our eyelashes do not have time to regenerate.
- Give your eyelashes a break from makeup – try not to cover them up at least once a week, because everyday make-up weakens them significantly, and you will see that they will be in better condition.
- Apply castor oil treatment – eyelash lubrication brings effects only after a few weeks of use, but it is really worth spending time on it. Eyelashes should be cleaned and covered with oil after thorough make-up removal, preferably left overnight, then washed off in the morning. Such regular treatments will not only strengthen the eyelashes, preventing them from falling out, but also stimulate the growth of new hairs.
