“Based on the fear of citizens, counting only on profit and not caring for the common good, paid pseudo-tests to detect coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) are offered, which are performed by people who have no knowledge and practice in the diagnosis of infectious diseases” – writes Alina Niewiadomska, president of the National Council of Laboratory Diagnosticians, in the letter.
Fake tests for coronavirus
The letter from the KRDL president was released today in connection with the emerging information about dishonest entrepreneurs offering paid pseudo tests to detect coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).
Here is its content:
«I would like to inform you that the National Chamber of Laboratory Diagnosticians receives numerous signals concerning the use of the epidemic by dishonest entrepreneurs.
Based on the fear of citizens, counting only on profit and not caring for the common good, they are offered, among others. payable pseudo tests to detect coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which are performed by people who do not have any knowledge and practice in the diagnosis of infectious diseases.
- “Yesterday night I went to the infectious ward 12 times”. Paramedics reveal what work in an ambulance looks like now
Non-actual “special insurance policies” in the event of coronavirus infection (SARS-CoV-2) are proposed for healthcare professionals. In addition, there are numerous attempts to sell to medical facilities tests with a very low effectiveness of coronavirus detection (SARS-CoV-2), the use of which may lead to catastrophic consequences.
I am asking all medical professionals and patients to be cautious, not to be manipulated and to verify any offers appearing on the market that are related to the current state of the epidemic.
I appeal to the public authorities responsible for the proper protection of the functioning of the Polish state to immediately take all possible measures to eliminate the practices described above from the market.
President
National Council of Laboratory Diagnosticians
Alina Niewiadomska
