How often, looking in the mirror, we notice the imperfections of our skin and, horrified, hurry to disguise them with decorative cosmetics or run to a cosmetology clinic. Both are extremes that can be avoided if you regularly take care of your face. Natalia Makarenko tells about the main rules of home care.
As soon as we turn 13-15 years old, the skin of the face begins to cause a lot of trouble. In adolescence, it is attacked by acne, then greasy shine, or, on the contrary, excessive dryness and peeling. After thirty, the first wrinkles are outlined. Pale appearance, redness, lethargy. Some are fighting on all fronts, gradually moving from masks and massages to thermonuclear chemical peels and Botox.
To avoid most of these problems, you need to properly care for your skin, then you will not need expensive cosmetology services for a long time, and there are only five basic rules for facial care.
Rule 1: Facial care starts at night
No cosmetics, neither home nor professional, will not help if you do not sleep enough. Bags and circles under the eyes, early wrinkles and sluggish flabby skin ― this is the first payment for lack of sleep. Not the biggest, of course, but still enough to give up an extra chapter of the book in the evening, a portion of your favorite TV series and unfinished household chores in favor of a couple of extra hours of sleep.
Subtleties of care: the skin is affected not only by the duration of sleep, but also by its quality. In order to have a fresh look, you need to sleep in a well-ventilated room and ideally on an orthopedic pillow. Well, or at least just on a not very large and flat, especially if you do not like to fall asleep, curled up or on your stomach.
Rule 2: The skin needs to breathe
In order for the skin to breathe, it, first of all, needs to be well cleaned. Morning and evening. Many people do not understand why you need so many means to cleanse the skin ― and milk, and gel, and tonic…
Milk and gel are needed for evening cleansing. The milk is applied first to “melt” the cosmetics and city dust on the face. After you wipe the skin with milk, you need to wash with a gel that will reliably clean your face. If you do not do this, and immediately wash with gel, you will have to rub your face quite actively. With this treatment, the skin will soon become flabby, wrinkles will appear on it early.
A tonic is needed in the morning to clean the skin after a night’s sleep. After all, it is during this time that most of the toxins and other waste products of our life are released through the skin.
Subtleties of care: it is very important to choose products specifically for your skin type ― dry, oily or mixed. Otherwise, there is a risk of aggravating the problems. Dry skin will begin to peel off, oily skin will shine even more, and mixed skin will do both at the same time.
Rule 3: The skin is thirsty
The skin needs to be moisturized. Advertising numerous face creams promises to nourish the skin with useful substances, to restore its elasticity. But their main function is to nourish the skin with moisture, which it loses along with breathing, sweat, under the influence of wind, sun, frost, exhaust gases, cosmetics and many other factors. So it is necessary to apply moisturizers in the morning and in the evening, and in the afternoon it is desirable to replenish the moisture reserves in the skin with the help of thermal water.
Subtleties of care: night cream should be applied at least half an hour before you go to bed, otherwise morning puffiness and bags under the eyes can not be avoided.
Rule 4: Skin needs cleaning
Like any cleaning, it requires regularity. In autumn and spring-every week, in winter and summer, at least once every two weeks, you need to use a facial scrub. Apply it to the cleansed skin, gently massage the face, then rinse with warm water.
Subtleties of care: the scrub can be prepared independently from ground coffee or honey (if you are not allergic to it), mixed with heavy cream to a creamy state. Some people prepare a scrub from cane sugar, but it is only suitable for the body, for the delicate skin of the face, such a scrub is too traumatic.
Rule 5: the skin must be fed
The skin, like any other organ, gets its essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals from what you eat. But still, it will be both useful and pleasant for her to get an additional power source in the form of a mask. Masks should be made at least once a week, apply them depending on the composition for 5-15 minutes. Then wash off with warm water.
Subtleties of care: with the help of a properly selected face mask, you can correct many skin problems ― make it more elastic, narrow wide pores, refresh the color. Most masks can be prepared by yourself or, if you do not have time for this, you can buy them ready-made. The most important thing is to choose a mask that matches your skin type and make sure that you are not allergic to any of its components.
