Facial Moisturizing Serum

And for the hundredth time, we will not be too lazy to repeat: moisturizing is the key to beauty, freshness, and smoothness of the skin. What should be proper hydration? Recall.

Why is it important to moisturize your skin?

The main moisturizing component in the skin is hyaluronic acid. It fills the space between cells (the so-called extracellular matrix), providing elasticity. If the skin has enough hyaluronic acid, it can:

  • updated according to a given algorithm;

  • effectively protect against external and internal harmful influences;

  • look fresh.

The main moisturizing component in the skin is hyaluronic acid.

The synthesis of hyaluronic acid in the skin begins to naturally decrease in people over 30 years old, but its supply can be replenished from the outside.

Being a natural component, hyaluronic acid is well accepted by the body and is immediately included in the work, as if it was produced naturally in the skin.

In addition to hyaluronic acid, natural moisturizing factor (NMF) is of great importance in maintaining internal moisture levels. Its components can also be obtained from outside.

Intensive moisturizing is especially necessary for dry and/or dehydrated skin.

What is the specialty of moisturizing serum

Serums are perhaps the most powerful weapon in your home care arsenal. These are the most active, rich, complex and precisely adjusted compositions. What is their feature?

  • concentration of active ingredients. In serums, in comparison with other categories of products, it is maximum – that is why they are applied in microscopic doses (a few drops).

  • Deep action. Serums are aimed at penetrating deep into the epidermis for a more complex and long-term effect. The task is to restore the skin from the inside, to activate its own resources.

  • Absorbency. The texture is most often liquid, less often gel-like. Instantly absorbed, serums require subsequent application of a cream. One exception is SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel.

  • Composition. The main component of moisturizing serums is hyaluronic acid. The higher its concentration and the more adapted the formula for penetrating deep, the more noticeable the effect.

4 SkinCeuticals Hydrating Serums

Hyaluronic Acid Correcting Serum HA Intensifier

The serum contains three forms of hyaluronic acid.

  • High molecular weight: does not penetrate deep into the skin, forms a protective film on the surface that retains moisture.

  • Low molecular weight: these are fragmented molecules of a substance that can penetrate into the deep layers of the epidermis, increasing the reserves of the skin’s own hyaluronic acid and maintaining the matrix.

  • Encapsulated: Combined in microcapsules with polymerized phospholipid to enhance hydration. It is released when the cream is distributed over the skin.

It also contains other ingredients that promote skin rejuvenation, such as proxylan, wild rice and licorice extracts. Serum increases skin density, improves its color and texture, reduces wrinkles.

Reviews

Olga: This serum is my absolute favourite. The bottle is made of dark purple glass, equipped with a convenient pipette. The consistency of the serum is thick, viscous, but the product does not feel heavy or greasy on the skin. Absorbs superbly, leaving the skin velvety. Removes redness and irritation. The product also has a pleasant aroma. Non-comedogenic, does not clog pores. Nourishes and moisturizes the skin.

Katerina: “Does more than it promises. Super remedy! My sensitive dehydrated skin was resurrected in just a week. With this tool, acquaintance with the brand began. Used in the morning and evening. The skin becomes moisturized from the inside, wrinkles disappear, the complexion evens out. Even my husband noticed the change. The bonus for me was that all minor inflammations were gone! I’ve tried a bunch of things before and nothing worked so well. Recommend!”

Intensive moisturizing regenerating gel Hydrating B5 Gel

This product can be used on its own or before basic skincare for intense hydration. Hyaluronic acid is complemented by a natural moisturizing factor (NMF) component – urea, as well as pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), which is necessary for metabolic processes and active skin regeneration. This “support group” provides the most effective deep hydration.

Svetlana: “My favorite serum! Perfectly moisturizes, quickly absorbed, the skin is perfectly softened. The look of the face is fresh and rested.

Elena: “Great hydration. Serum in a convenient package, economical, three drops are enough for the whole face. Also well suited to my husband, who does not recognize creamy textures, but uses this product every day, as it does not shine on the skin.

Retexturing Activator Hydrating Serum

Responsible for exfoliation and hydration. After exfoliation, hyaluronic acid penetrates the skin more easily and works there in full force. Serum activates cellular renewal and gives a noticeable rejuvenating effect. Especially relevant for oily skin, which, in addition to moisturizing, requires regular release from dead cells.

Reviews

Svetlana: “I really love this serum. For problem skin with enlarged pores after 30 – that’s it! Evens tone, eliminates rashes.

Hope: “I used the serum from the end of April to May 20, I used SPF 50 during the day. These are the impressions. First day: the serum is very sticky, but if you let it soak in and then apply the cream, then the stickiness disappears. Third day: the skin became heterogeneous. Fifth day: all small rashes have disappeared, no new ones have been found, the skin tone is evened out. After 10 days, my sensitive skin stopped reddening after washing, foundation became very easy to distribute, but the need for them disappeared. At the end of May, I decided to complete the course, the skin was sufficiently moisturized before the summer season, other care products began to work better on it, post-acne traces practically disappeared, the skin tone brightened and evened out. Must-have spring-autumn care.

Phyto Corrective Hydrating Soothing Gel for Sensitive Skin

Serum soothes the skin after aesthetic procedures. And it’s just a godsend for people with sensitive combination skin, when dryness coexists with oiliness and a tendency to rashes.

  • Hyaluronic acid increases skin moisture levels.

  • Olive and cucumber extracts are known for their soothing properties.

  • Thyme extract prevents breakouts.

  • Grapefruit and mulberry extracts prevent excessive (post-traumatic) pigmentation, even out skin tone.

Reviews

Nika: “Suitable for any season, under any foundation, does not clog pores, does not feel on the skin, moisturizes well. In cold weather or after peelings, I intensify with Daily Moisture cream. The best part for me is that the gel can be used around the eyes.”

Yana: “Initial data: combi skin, rosacea, post-acne and age-related changes. I use this product after Phloretin CF, in the morning. I have never used creams before makeup before, on my skin all this “layer cake” floated away from my face by lunchtime! This serum is instantly absorbed and disappears. <...> Summary: if you have oily or combination skin, there are redness, reactivity, or you want to soothe the skin after the procedures – take it, you won’t regret it. The tool is great! By the way, we use it together with my husband – he also appreciated it!

Selection rules

If everyone needs regular moisturizing, then intensive moisturizing is especially necessary for dry and / or dehydrated skin, as well as:

After 30 years, the synthesis of hyaluronic acid naturally decreases, but its supply can be replenished from the outside.

  • after 35 years;

  • under adverse climatic conditions (dry air is not only in the heat, but also in frosty weather, as well as in heated rooms);

  • after hardware aesthetic procedures;

  • with a feeling of tightness of the skin, regardless of age.

Each of the presented moisturizing serums is aimed at solving related skin problems – this is what you should be guided by when choosing.
