Facesetting – How’s it going ?
Facesitting comes from english do what= face and to sit= to sit down. It is a paraphilia, that is to say of a pathological sexual behavior. It is about sitting on the face of his or her partner to seek an oral-genital contact (mouth and sex) or oro-anal (mouth and anus).
This practice can be considered a form of sexual fetishism. It comes within the framework of the relations between dominants and dominated and more broadly in the sexual practices BDSM (overlapping acronym for: bondage, discipline, domination, submission, sadism, masochism).
Where does the sexual arousal come from in facesitting?
The dominant, sitting on the face of the dominated, feels an additional sexual arousal in the control of the respiratory movements of his / her partner. The first risk of such a maneuver is asphyxiation. It is often a form of erotic humiliation, although this notion does not meet with unanimity on the question.
It is the humidity of the perineum (the inside of the gluteal fold, between the penis and the anus), the smell of the anus, the pressure exerted on the face and the darkness that would stimulate sexual pleasure. In the dominant / dominated, the facesitting demonstrates the superiority or the sexual gratification of the partners.
The “plus” or “must” of facesitting
Le face-sitting can be used to marry other complementary practices, such as cunnilingus (arousal of the sex of the woman with the tongue) if it is the woman who sits astride the face of the man.
The urolagnia (or urophilia, ondinism) or the scatophile which respectively correspond to the sexual excitement by the urine or the excrements are obviously at hand, so to speak, in all the situations. Still, it is impossible not to come to BDSM because the face-sitting invites it. During bondage, the submissive partner can be physically or mentally tortured by facesitting.
Bondage: a word that is not in the French dictionary
This term is not easy to understand, but it cannot be avoided. It comes from the English bondage which means “slave” or “serf”.
The ” bondage Is a sadomasochistic human sexual behavior that involves tying up one’s partner in a dominant / dominated relationship. The origin is the bondage imagined by the Japanese. All shackles are authorized: ropes, bags, corsets… It is the B for BDSM. It remains to decline the other letters.
BDSM, an acronym for a great journey
Sadomasochistic practice is well known. The German-speaking psychiatrist von Krafft-Ebing created the word “masochism” from the erotic novel “La Venus à la fur” (1870) by the famous Baron de Sacher-Masoch, who described his dreams described as “masochistic”. This novel has inspired many filmmakers including Roman Polanski (“La Venus à la ferme, 2013). But sadomasochism has grown to become the abovementioned acronym.
- B: as bondage (see above);
- D: as discipline and domination;
- S: like submission and sadism;
- M: like masochism.
Facesitting corresponds well to all of these states. However, the distribution of roles is not so easy to understand and the idea, long accepted, that sadism is opposed to masochism is no longer valid.
Not to be confused with the DSM-V (five)
Except for a letter, we could be wrong. DSM-5 is the fifth and latest edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. It was published in February 2015 in the United States and in June 2015 in France. (Diagnostic and Statistical of Mental Disorders). This work is published by the American Association of Psychiatrists (American Psychiatric Association). Note that the word “diseases” is avoided, replaced by “troubles” in French and “disorders” in American.
What does he say about this DSM-V?
“The sexual masochist experiences sexual arousal from being humiliated, hit, tied, assaulted in any other way … This disorder causes significant suffering or considerably disrupts the functioning of daily life”.
He specifies, however, that on the Richter scale of masochism, certain “light” behaviors are not pathological. At the top of the scale, when the behavior is pathological, the treatments are ineffective.
A dangerous practice
The temporary decrease in oxygen in the brain at the time of orgasm is a source of potentiation of sexual pleasure. This practice can accidentally lead to irreversible brain damage or death. The underlined words which might be intended to mitigate the notion of risk do not really succeed in making the face-sitting reassuring.
