Here is the New Year on the nose. Many girls begin to think about their image and makeup especially in detail. And there are those among us who look great every day under the gaze of numerous television viewers. Woman’s Day learned from Chelyabinsk TV presenters and makeup artists how they always manage to look their best.
1. Is makeup “for the screen” different from everyday makeup?2. What are the best features of your face to highlight with makeup?3. What is permissible and what is not on the TV screen?4. What make-up novelties do you use?
Vlada Luneva, “Russia 1” – Chelyabinsk
1. “Very much. He’s professional. We have a make-up artist, and we ourselves are learning tricks and wisdom. The makeup on the screen is brighter. Unlike everyday, we select it for the image – everything should be combined: hairstyle, makeup, clothes. And you must also take into account what kind of studio, everything should add up to one bright picture. The secret is this: the audience should have a desire to consider, even study the presenter. We must be in trend – follow fashion trends.
2. My make-up artist chooses eyes as the main object. And I also have a good smile. However, it should be remembered that you cannot make both eyes and lips bright. One day we make the lips brighter, the next – brighter the eye makeup: we more actively tint the eyelashes with mascara, the shadows are more noticeable.
3. There are unacceptable accessories – remove beads, pendants, chains, rings. Sometimes we even ask guests in the studio to take off the clock: we have a glass table, and you can accidentally knock on it for hours – an extraneous sound. We can afford to wear small earrings. Makeup should be sophisticated. For daytime editions there is a so-called light version, in the evening make-up is more active – blush, shadows, mascara.
4. We use special professional TV cosmetics. The foundation lasts all day – you can even wash your face with water. Sometimes you want to do it, because sometimes you have to wear makeup for 12 hours in a row. Cleaning, care is very important. And on non-air days, you generally want to be without makeup. “
1. “Of course, one hundred percent! In general, I can’t look at myself in studio makeup. This is so much plaster, kilograms. And in the evening I really want to wash everything off quickly. Any smile – and immediately folds are laid in the foundation. And you can’t see it on the screen – everything is fine.
2. Eyes. Eyelashes. When we make professional eyeliner, the eyes become brighter, more expressive, bigger, the look is open.
3. Makeup that does not match the format is unacceptable. If it is a news program, the red lip color is unacceptable. By the way – and this is not only for the screen – you cannot wear more than three ornaments. Pendant, bracelet, earrings – that’s all.
4. Until I started working on TV, I did not know that shadows can be preserved for a long time if you put a foundation under them. Then the shadows will last all day, not roll down. You can make your face shine by using a foundation with a shimmery effect, which is given by special particles. “
Margarita Khizhnyak, “Domashny-Chelyabinsk • Orient Express”
1. Oh, oh, of course different! I don’t wear the makeup that is done to me in the studio in everyday life, it is not compatible with ordinary life. If you go out into the street in it, there will be a great effect. Studio makeup adds age. I like light, I hardly use shadows. In the studio, there are more shadows to make the look seem more open and expressive.
2. I have a round face, so I accentuate my cheekbones. More expressive cheekbones give the face a severity.
3. I have gone through many stylists. Sometimes they confused daytime makeup and evening makeup. Everything has its time. The evening version is not allowed on the screen in the news program. Makeup should be functional and discreet. It is better to be undersized than too many. Excess makeup is inadmissible.
4. I bought the “Skin Perfection” foundation. It paints under eye circles perfectly. My secret: I always use a concealer under my foundation to mask pimples or redness. Another secret: a thin line of eyeliner above the upper eyelashes – they immediately seem thicker and longer. You can also make an up arrow, but this is not for everybody.
Maria Drubina, STS-Chelyabinsk
1. Undoubtedly. It’s striking. TV make-up is, of course, brighter, more intense.
2. My face is made “slimmer” with makeup. Emphasize the eyes. In a shot with TV make-up, they look cool.
3. Everything should be in moderation both in the frame and in life. Our channel – bright, positive, sunny, joyful – suggests a bright image of the presenter. The host shouldn’t look aggressive. The vamp image is an absolute taboo.
4. Paying tribute to the times and trends, we actively emphasize eyebrows using eye shadow and mascara. In my arsenal there is more bright lipstick – fuchsia, scarlet. When we were recording the Gorkin Tour program, in the French series we got acquainted with the Benefit brand – there are very cool gadgets there. For example, a foundation that conceals pores, the pores underneath narrow right before our eyes. Highlighters are good – to highlight some facial features. Tasha Strogaya, my co-host, said that many Moscow TV presenters use them.
Alexandra Slezko, “31 channel”
1. Yes, it is different. There is a specific light in the studio. The graphic design of the makeup is of great importance, and shading is not important – so that the face turns out to be not flat, but voluminous.
2. There are two main concepts: focus on the eyes and emphasis on the lips. I love the third option – neutral, when everything is about the same, simple, expressive, natural.
3. Anything is acceptable if in the final version the product looks good. There are rules, you need to know them. But they can also be violated if the goal requires it. Today there should be no pure genres: refinement must be destroyed by negligence, and drama and gloss must be added to sportiness.
4. Everything that is. I myself can do makeup, but I do not have time to follow all the new products. If you want an extraordinary approach, you cannot do without the help of a professional. I fell in love with the novelty-liner (eyeliner) in the form of a felt-tip pen. You can try new shades of lipsticks from a professional. I don’t need so much in my life, for example, coral lipstick. For me it will rather deteriorate than end.
Experienced TV makeup artists answered important questions about makeup.
1. What must be observed in order to get the best result for photography and video shooting?2. Your advice for New Year’s makeup?
1. An even and dense tone is the most important thing. The elaboration of the lines of the face is important. If there are imperfections, it is necessary to model the face, perhaps correct the proportions. For example, make large cheekbones less noticeable, mask dark bruises under the eyes. You can use rice powder to keep your face shiny. Makeup for photography and video should be a little brighter and more expressive, because the light eats it up. False eyelashes can be used. It is good to use deeper shades of colors: for example, add black to blue shadows – it will give depth. Eyebrows to be emphasized. 2. Shimmering, metallic eyeshadow colors are very relevant. Makeup in one range will look spectacular, for example, in warm colors: shadows of brown-golden shades and lips of frozen berry color with a brown tint. Topical: matte lips for shimmery shadows.
Marcel Volkov, STS-Chelyabinsk:1. Necessary color and shade correction – some details of the face to highlight, some to darken. This is called face sculpting. For photo and video shooting, the face should be matte – it is important to emphasize both the eyes, and eyebrows, and cheekbones, and lips. 2. You can make smoky eyes using beautiful pearlescent eyeshadows, rhinestones, false eyelash tufts. Colors – from snowy gold to complex brown tones.
Sonya Gudim, ex-TV presenter, fitness blogger, radio hostWhen Woman’sDay asked why so often to do different makeup, Sonya replied: “We met makeup artist Victoria Borodina two years ago and became best friends. From time to time, for different purposes, we shoot projects where unusual makeup is required. Plus, when there are short breaks, Vika draws something on me, since I have a “make-up” face. On me, she works out new techniques and experiments. After all, you can’t draw Maleficent on the bride – the groom will immediately faint. Several dozen images have already accumulated – some seem especially interesting and complex. Vika and I have already developed a tradition – to come up with something new once a month, because it is important for a make-up artist to grow creatively. “
