Fabulous children’s screen: photo

A screen is one of the easiest and most convenient ways to manipulate space. However, using this antique piece of furniture solely as a transforming partition is shortsighted. The screen is able not only to zone, but also to decorate the room.

A child’s room is a model of an entire apartment, only in miniature. That is why the screen will come in handy here. One movement – and a place is ready where you can confidentiality or dream. To complete the screen, three plywood blanks (1,7 × 0,5 m) are required. You will also need children’s photo wallpaper, a metal cutlery dryer and a wooden hanger (both IKEA), a primer, wallpaper glue, light and dark green acrylic paint, acrylic paint to match the wallpaper, a can of yellow car paint, brushes.

  • Photo 1. On both sides of the plywood blanks, primer is first applied in several layers, and then green acrylic paint.
  • Photo 2. According to the size of the blanks, two canvases are cut out from children’s photo wallpaper, having previously selected a pattern.
  • Photo 3. The canvases are coated with wallpaper glue and kept for some time so that the composition is absorbed. Wallpaper glue is applied to the surface of the workpiece.
  • Photo 4. Wall murals are glued to the plywood surface, carefully aligning the image. The main thing is that the drawing coincides at the junction.

  • Photo 9. The cut out figures are smeared with wallpaper glue and fixed on the surface of the screen.
  • Photo 10. The wooden hanger is fixed with self-tapping screws and a screwdriver. The screen is ready!
